#NPE 2024 - The Results Are In... First and foremost, Tederic North America would like to thank the NPE Plastics Show and the 400+ companies that took time to visit our booth to discuss their manufacturing requirements. The Tederic team saw many familiar faces, as the plastics industry is tightly connected. A snapshot from our discussions! Cost Reduction: Numerous companies are seeking ways to reduce manufacturing costs, and one effective approach is sourcing high-quality machines at exceptional value. Tederic offers a compelling value proposition, providing advanced technologies without inflated costs. Whether you need a 7000-ton machine with 6 injection units, a fully automated in-mold labeling cell, or a laser marking system for regulatory documentation in medical or automotive sectors, we have you covered. Tederic North American Machinery, Inc. understands the importance of customer satisfaction beyond the initial purchase. We provide spare parts and service at much more reasonable rates than market standards, ensuring that your cost savings aren't eroded by downstream expenses once the machines are out of warranty. Addressing the Skilled Labor Shortage: The shortage of skilled labor is a pressing concern, and proprietary OEM technologies can exacerbate the challenge. With multiple machine brands and their respective proprietary solutions, manufacturing plants face additional learning curves and confusion, hindering talent retention and productivity. Tederic understands these challenges and guides customers toward proven, brand-agnostic solutions on the market. By streamlining processes and reducing complexity, we empower your teams to focus on core operations without the stress of navigating multiple proprietary systems. Embracing Transformative Technologies: While technologies can be powerful enablers, their successful implementation hinges on cultural adoption and acceptance within the organization. The biggest challenge manufacturers face is fostering buy-in from the shop floor and ensuring effective utilization of purchased technologies. The most valuable solution you can instill on any shop floor is enabling your staff to get the training for troubleshooting and proper operation of your equipment. Marketing promises may be enticing, but true value comes from understanding your unique challenges and needs through firsthand experience on the production floor. We have a passion for addressing industry challenges while keeping your budget happy. Using the KISS (Keep It Simple, Silly) method, you can ensure a quality machine that is easy to maintain while keeping your OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) stable. Thank you to all the plastics industry professionals who visited our booth at NPE: The Plastics Show. We look forward to continued discussions and providing insights on how you can keep costs at bay in the current economic environment. #plastics #injectionmolding #manufacturing #automotive #medical #automation

Technical Challenges of Thermoforming in Plastic Packages (Lesson-1 to Lesson-4) We will study Thermoforming is a key manufacturing process in the plastics industry, particularly in the production of plastics used in a wide range of applications, from food packaging to medical blister packs. However, despite being a widely adopted technology, thermoforming faces a number of technical challenges that can affect the quality of the final product. It is essential that production and quality control systems are such that they can guarantee both the producer and the customer a defect-free, ready-to-use product, in order to minimize these obstacles as much as possible. But… what are the main defects that we can find, and how can we solve them?

Machine Design’s R&D Spotlight this month focuses on #plasticsextrusion. Over the decades we’ve seen improvements in extrusion processes, including screw design, heating and cooling systems and control mechanisms. Now, ReDeTec Inc.’s engineers have developed an upgrade for the conductive melting process. Dennon Oosterman said his research team has seen an increase in conductive efficiency as they scale throughput, “with roughly 70% efficiency at 4kg/hr and 82% efficiency at 8kg/hr.” The stats are remarkable, and, not surprisingly, they’ve seen mixed reactions from skeptics in plastics extrusion and injection molding industries. Oftentimes, it takes innovations a few years to gestate before they take off. I’m curious to see how their time-to-market unfolds. Let’s hear what you have to say about this novel extrusion method. Read the article, and comment below or send me a note at rbegg@endeavorb2b.com. Braam Meij Sharon Spielman Jeremy Cohen #plasticsextrusion #injectionmolding
