Pioneering Naval Innovation: BlueWhale ASW in German Navy Operational Experimentation ATLAS ELEKTRONIK, in collaboration with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), is proud to announce the successful completion of the first-ever Operational Experimentation (OPEX) campaign by the German Navy for the BlueWhale ASW platform. This groundbreaking initiative represents a significant step forward in advancing uncrewed systems in general and especially for anti-submarine warfare (ASW). Led by the German Navy and in collaboration with key Bundeswehr stakeholders, the campaign subjected the BlueWhale ASW system to rigorous real-world testing in the challenging Baltic Sea environment. The platform, a Large Displacement Uncrewed Underwater Vehicle (LDUUV), integrates ATLAS ELEKTRONIK's innovative towed passive sonar array. In combination with ATLAS ELEKTRONIK`s transmitter, this state-of-the-art technology enables precise bistatic detection and tracking of underwater threats at great depths. The results of the OPEX campaign highlight the BlueWhale ASW system’s capabilities and underscore the importance of real-world experimentation to deliver mission-ready solutions. Supporting the "Marine 2035 and Beyond" vision of the German Navy, this project exemplifies the potential of uncrewed technologies to enhance naval operations and maritime security. #Innovation #ASW #NavalTechnology #Defense #OPEX
