What can be done to improve gender diversity in leadership roles, especially in sectors like pharma, healthcare, food and hospitality, and many more, where the services are delivered by women but led predominantly by men? Now that we had a decade post 2023’s revamp of corporate laws from 2013, followed by SEBI's 2019 mandate, to appoint at least one woman director to the Board, have these laws made a difference to gender diversity, corporate governance? As per an #EY report, as of October 2022, 605 women accounted for 803 Board positions in NIFTY500 companies. Out of these 3.1% hold four or more directorships. So does India have enough women qualified to takeover board positions? Or will we continue to see this 'golden skirt' phenomenon? And what can CHROs help address these long standing pain points? Any more suggestions?
