Be Careful of Quishing! Cybercriminals are getting smarter, and Quishing is one of the latest threats to be aware of. Quishing uses QR codes to trick users into scanning them, leading to fraudulent websites or even tricking people into making payments to the wrong bank accounts! Always double-check before scanning any QR code or making payments.

I really think we need to make sure the public is really aware of things like this, I feel like today's society is quick to whip out a camera and scan a qr code. With the advanced computing power we have, companies like Apple could potentially enhance their camera apps by incorporating real-time threat detection. This feature would proactively alert users before they decide to visit a URL embedded in a QR code. The camera app could reference an updated database of malicious sites, similar to how browsers like Firefox and Chrome utilize Google's Safe Browsing API to warn users about phishing or malware sites. I think there would be a few concerns to take into consideration such as privacy concerns, ensuring that users' data and scanned URLs aren't improperly collected or shared. Some other concerns are connecting up to the database using up data and reducing battery life, though are these much of a concern today most people seem to have "unlimited" data. I realize this wouldn't be a 100% solution nevertheless adding a feature like this may reduce the risk to users by a small margin.

QR codes are increasingly prevalent and offer a convenient method for making payments with mobile devices. However, this convenience can also be exploited by malicious actors. It is important to remain vigilant and exercise caution when using QR codes.
