Before long, the boat is taking on so much water that it’s at risk of sinking, and suddenly, what seemed like a manageable problem has become a full-blown crisis. In the realm of cybersecurity, vulnerabilities are like that hole in the boat. If left unaddressed, they can grow into significant threats, putting the entire organization at risk. Assuming that someone else will patch these vulnerabilities or that they won’t cause immediate harm is a dangerous mindset. Just as ignoring a hole in a boat can lead to disaster, failing to fix vulnerabilities in your cybersecurity can lead to breaches, data loss, and irreparable damage to your organization's reputation.
