Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) is a transformative model that is reshaping the financial landscape. It empowers banks and financial institutions to offer their core banking functionalities as a service to third-party businesses through APIs. This strategic shift is driving innovation, enhancing customer experience, and creating new revenue streams.

Automation is in my blood. If someone is doing repetitive tasks, it should be automated to save time for employees to have them focus on more advanced tasks. 2019: We automated our datacenters turning Group IT into an internal cloud provider. 2020: We tested augumented glasses with our drivers and guards but deemed the technology not ready. 2021: We introduced RPA to help the business off-load repetitive tasks to robots. 2022: Once again introduced augumented glasses but technology still deemed not mature enough. 2023: We introduced machine learning to help the business to be more pro-active 2024: We are building our first Gen AI platform to ensure business can benefit from using AI. 2024: Once again evaluating augumented glasses since we feel it can support the business in a good way. 2025: Its going to be an interesting year 😉 Great to see we are aligned Hoang Tran 👍

The main challenge was to develop a comprehensive API layer that links all relevant applications seamlessly. Our Solution 💡 We implemented a robust, Java-based solution featuring a customer-facing frontend for invoice uploads and a backend for integration with multiple banking systems. Additionally, we developed a user interface for daily operations, process monitoring, and reporting. Result 📈 The UCSF Transformation Layer now enables around 45,000 transactions to be processed each month, significantly reducing manual workload.
