Attended a fantastic event in Berlin today organized by Nucleus Capital. The theme was "Investing in Climate Resilient Global Food" with great panel discussions and speakers from VCs, CVCs, founders and industry players. The intimate setting made the event very insightful and engaging, which can sometimes be much more impactful compared to larger conferences. 💚 Here some takeaways: ➡️ As a founder, prioritize closing the investment round over getting caught up in details like shareholder agreements and board composition. While these are indeed important, securing the investment comes first. Moreover, when closing the round, talk to your investors regularly to align interests and expectations. ➡️ Get the board to function as a collaborative team that strengthens the organization, rather than serving solely as a reporting body. ➡️ Use the Techno-economic Analysis (TEA) as a tool that will evolve as your company grows and not just an outcome that needs to be presented to VCs. ➡️ Be 10x fundamentally different and better than existing solutions if you want to be a strong VC case.
