A very interesting and useful read for me! The green coffee market supply chain is truly a complex system; whether it be the London Market (Robusta), the New York C Market (Arabica) or the world of Specialty Coffee & the mystery of 'Direct Trade'. This article explains simply (if that is possible), the current situation leading to unprecedented robusta bean pricing, currently sitting over 100% higher in price than in March 2023. Consumers have been shielded from these increases so far but seriously, that is not sustainable, and something has to give!

HIGH coffee prices, stubbornly sustained over the last two years, are emerging as a lasting reality for the coffee industry. Since late September 2023, coffee prices have been on a sharp upward trajectory. The Arabica futures contract reached levels in September 2024 not seen since August 2011. But while buyers and sellers alike have been hoping for prices to stabilise, recent surges show no sign of a meaningful drop. Read more about it here : https://lnkd.in/dTARZDb3

Global coffee prices set for shift in 2024 As coffee enthusiasts and professionals in the industry, it's crucial for us to stay ahead of market trends. According to recent insights, major coffee-producing countries like Brazil and Colombia are gearing up for a significant surge in production. This anticipated increase is poised to have a notable impact on global coffee prices. In light of this impending shift, I urge fellow coffee roasters to exercise patience and strategic planning when it comes to purchasing coffee in large volumes. While it may be tempting to secure supplies immediately, waiting for the market to stabilize could prove to be a prudent move. By holding off on bulk purchases until prices reach a more favorable level, we can optimize our procurement strategies for long-term success. Let's leverage this opportunity to navigate the evolving landscape of the coffee market with foresight and resilience. Together, we can adapt to these changes and continue delivering exceptional coffee experiences to our customers. Stay tuned for more updates as we monitor the developments closely. #coffee #coffeemarket #cmarket #coffeeindustry #marketinsight #coffeeroasters #strategicplanning

🌍 Coffee Market Update - December 2, 2024 Despite the plummeting domestic coffee prices, the international coffee exchanges in London and New York remain unchanged. Contracts for delivery in early 2025 are holding steady, showcasing the market's resilience. 🔹 Robusta Coffee Prices: The delay in exporting Robusta from Vietnam, caused by unfavorable weather, is keeping the prices elevated. The demand surge during the Northern Hemisphere's winter adds to this trend. 🔹 Arabica Coffee Dominance: This year marks a shift, with Arabica playing a key role as Vietnam's harvest season begins. 📉 Domestic Coffee Prices, today seems to have decrease in domestic coffee prices: 🏔Đắk Lắk: 129,000 VND/kg (-1,000) 🏔Lâm Đồng: 128,500 VND/kg (-1,000) 🏔Gia Lai: 129,000 VND/kg (-1,000) 🏔Đắk Nông: 129,500 VND/kg (-1,000) Coffee price may be change to increase this week. Last year, the coffee market was primarily driven by Robusta, with producing countries affected by drought and harsh weather conditions. However, this year, with the coffee harvest season starting in Vietnam, Arabica has taken on a more dominant role. Despite the decline in coffee prices, they remain relatively high. The delay in exporting Robusta coffee from Vietnam, which faced unfavorable weather conditions, has contributed to the high prices. The increased demand for coffee during the winter in the Northern Hemisphere further highlights this upward trend.
