Here are some observations from the report: 📌 Factors Hampering Market Growth COVID-19 impact: social distancing norms during the pandemic reduced market share. International travel, seminars, and meetings can be expensive, not affordable for all companies. This is considered a significant factor for the market. Another factor that could hinder market growth is the uncertain and constantly changing geopolitical situation around the world. Thailand is back on track as a powerhouse in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry, garnering global recognition as a top destination for international events. The latest ranking by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) places Thailand 6th among countries and cities in Asia-Pacific for hosting international conferences in 2023. Beyond this, Thailand's appeal as a MICE destination is further evidenced by Cvent's 2024 rankings, where both Bangkok and Phuket secured spots among the top 10 destinations in Asia-Pacific for RFP demand. These achievements highlight the country's strategic efforts to position itself as a hub for large-scale, world-class events. The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) projects a remarkable 2024, with the MICE industry expected to generate approximately 130 billion Thai baht in revenue for this year, surpassing targets with over 23 million MICE visitors. Looking ahead to 2025, the goals are even more ambitious, aiming for 32 million MICE visitors and revenue exceeding 200 billion Thai baht. Notably, the Exhibition sector, the “E” in MICE, remains a critical driver of Thailand's success, attracting the highest number of both international and local visitors and generating substantial economic impact. From a marketing strategy perspective, Dubai could strategically allocate funds to promote trade shows and conferences organized by various entities. Given the larger scale of trade shows, compared to conferences, the emphasis should be placed on trade shows. Additionally, Dubai should actively seek to attract and support a wide range of trade show organizers, even if their events are redundant or competitive within the same sector. It is crucial to open up to organizers not yet present in Dubai, such as Clarion, UBM, Messe Berlin, and many more, as there are about 3,500 trade show organizers globally. Dubai could focus on identifying these entities and offering support to those willing to initiate trade shows in Dubai. This is particularly crucial during the summer months when Dubai’s weather is intensely hot. However, Dubai’s infrastructure is designed to provide a comprehensive air-conditioned experience from the aircraft to the trade show venue, ensuring minimal exposure to the outdoor heat during transit from the airport to the event, even during peak summer. https://lnkd.in/dUWh62iN

📢 Here is the January Chapter President Message 1- Can you give us a quick recap of 2023 and the highlights of the year? The key actions of the first half of 2023 whose results were discussed at our last Annual General Assembly held in July 2023 included the management of MPI's 2023 hosted buyer program at IMEX in Frankfurt. In June 2023, our chapter had the pleasure to arrange a networking event at the famous Ecole Ducasse - Paris Studio. The main highlights of the second semester are the annual main conference at the Pure Meetings & Events in Paris, on the subject of the AI. By addressing the topic of AI in MICE for the first time at a conference, our chapter paved the way for other international trade fairs held WW in the weeks that followed. I would also like to quote our attendance as a partner at the first ‘Nuit de l’Evènementiel’ in Lyon and the new MICE Fair ‘The MIX” in Metz. And we have relaunched the MPI Cafés format with, in September, a hybrid breakfast at the Le Shack Opera on the CSR trends in Monaco (a country member of our chapter) and a 100% digital MPI Café in November, with our partner Green Evenements on sustainability. 2- What are the new partnership that were done in 2023? Apart from the ongoing partnerships with Globe Network (Pure Meetings & Events) set up in 2019 and the ASTM - Association of Swiss Travel Management, in 2023, I entered into new long-term partnerships with Republik Group (Nuit de l'Evenementiel) and GL Events which launched a new 4 Frontiers MICE Trade Show "The MIX" in Metz, aimed more particularly at the France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg markets. In 2024, I plan to develop existing partnerships but also to expand the number of partners, including a key agreement with an international hotel group. 3- What are the Chapter top three goals/projects for 2024? ✔ Implement new MICE solutions in 2024 that will bring positive results to the MPI Community. ✔ Go on raising awareness of the MPI France-Switzerland Chapter through an ambitious communication plan ✔ Through the chapter I chair and with my Board members, I want MPI to be the "place of reference" for anything related to MICE and events management 4- What are the events coming up in the next six months? MPI France Switzerland will attend like every year, the next #EMEC24 in Luxembourg MPI Belgium - Luxembourg Chapter. A second MPI Café on sustainability is planed as well as a client event in France and a Fam trip in Switzerland. MPI France Switzerland will lead again the Hosted Buyer Program of MPI during the 2024 international #IMEX24 Tradeshow in Germany. 5- What are at the Chapter’s projects for 2024? In 2024, our main objective is to exceed, by next summer, the number of members we had in 2019 before the Covid period.
