Yesterday, I shared the stage with Jimmy Samartzis at the Renewable Fuels Association‘s National Ethanol Conference to discuss SAF innovation. It was an honor to be asked to speak. As Earth Day approaches, let's talk about TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) coming into play when saving our planet!!! As we’ve discussed before, our cells and batteries will outperform others with lifetime being 10 times longer, total cost of ownership over time will always come in our favor. Today, I think more and more about the #miningindustry as they are serious about sustainability and low impact on the environment. As our parent company is TotalEnergies, we have a very similar philosophy. On the Saft side, we have reduced the need for hard to mine minerals, to make our cells more environmentally friendly. With our life cycle being about 10 time the cycles of other lithium/lithium-ion cells, that means we use less minerals over the lifetime plus you have 1 tenth the number of packs to recycle or end up in a landfill. Let's stand together and save the environment. #earth #earthday #savetheinvironment

Today marks the launch of CHERISH2O, an ambitious project in our port that brings together 12 chemical companies and other partners to investigate how to collectively turn wastewater from port industries into reusable process water, by conducting a feasibility study and setting up a test pilot. This way, we’re preparing together for a future with secure water supplies. Climate change calls for smart water solutions. With the support of the Flemish Blue Deal, we’re preparing the port to face droughts and water shortages. 🚀 Fantastic news! 44.01 has raised $37m Series A funding to eliminate CO2 from the atmosphere, permanently and at scale. 🎉 Congratulations Talal, Karan, Ehab and the whole team! Equinor Ventures and Shorooq Partners led, with new investors including Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund and existing backers Breakthrough Energy Ventures also participating. Why do we need it? To reach net zero, we have to remove an estimated 1bn tonnes of #carbon from the atmosphere each year. That means first capturing it and then eliminating it forever. Why is it exciting? 44.01’s pioneering technology eliminates captured CO2 by turning it into rock. This accelerates a natural process from decades to just 12 months.
