By merging their distinct products (PRIME & Feastables), they’re not just competing with Lunchables—they’re offering a fresh, health-conscious alternative that taps into their collective immense fanbase (>500M across all socials)
This move highlights the growing power of creator-driven businesses to disrupt established industries.

I’m going to jump on the Lunchly bandwagon here. Many were quick to hate on Jimmy Donaldson, Logan Paul, and KSI for their new pre-made lunch kit that was announced last week. Many saw it as a “money grab” and another example of them targeting kids with their marketing approach.
Although the ladder may be true, I’m still going to play devil's advocate here…
Here are some important things to note:
1. Their product is a direct competitor to OSCAR MAYER FOODS' Lunchables. Lunchables have dominated this niche category for decades.
2. Lunchly is marketed as a “better for you” alternative to Lunchables. Lunchly is less processed and about 20-30% healthier than Lunchables with less calories, total fat, sodium, carbs, and added sugar.
3. Organic/natural food is expensive and has a shorter shelf life. Therefore, that higher cost would be passed down to the consumer. This would price them out of competition with Lunchables and parents will not want to pay $7-8 for a “healthy” Lunchable alternative.
4. Lunchables “Lunch Meal Kit” regular price is $3.49. The new Lunchly is currently $3.99. Mr. Beast claims that he would like to bring the price down even more with scale.
5. This niche category has seen very little innovation over the years. The Lunchables that kids ate 30 years ago in 1994 (that feels weird to say) are very similar to Lunchables that kids are eating today in 2024.
6. Mr. Beast, Logan Paul, and KSI are not the only one’s marketing to kids. Oscar Mayer has been doing this for years through advertisements that are specifically targeted to children. They have also partnered with Nickelodeon, Nintendo, and Hasbro to feature characters from kids favorite TV shows, movies, and games like Spongebob, Mario, and Transformers.
From my point of view, Lunchly simply saw an opportunity to steal market share from a sleeping giant. And with this product, hopefully they will fuel more competition in the category which will encourage brands like Oscar Mayer to innovate and hopefully create healthier versions of their products (at similar price points) as well. One thing is for sure, I’m going to be sitting on the sidelines with my popcorn excitedly watching how this one plays out. What are your thoughts on the new Lunchly brand?
