"Don’t Read Success Stories, You Will Only Get The Message. Read Failure Stories, You Will Get Some Ideas to Get Success” Quote By,– A.P.J Abdul Kalam As an entrepreneur, the journey often comes with highs and lows. After extensive research and reflecting on the entrepreneurial landscape closer to home, I've planned to write a series of failed startups in India. This piece delves into the underlying causes, lessons learned, and the resilience entrepreneurs show in the face of adversity. It's a narrative that is not just about setbacks, but about the indomitable spirit that drives innovation and progress. I hope this series serves as an insightful resource for anyone navigating their entrepreneurial path.

Harvard University's working definition of entrepreneurship is 'entrepreneurship is the identification of opportunities, pursuit, and exploitation without the directly controlled resources (Stevenson)', is a concise way of thinking of entrepreneurship, but there always seemed to be missing something. We all know that IDEAs are a 'dime a dozen', so identifying the ideas is not necessary but not sufficient in the entrepreneurial process. We have had ideas that other people have developed and said 'oh I had that idea..' Entrepreneurial agency is missing from Harvard University's definition. I have made an improvement on by placing the entrepreneur as the change agent that develops ideas into opportunities. My improvement on Harvard Business School's definition is Entrepreneurship is the development of ideas into opportunities, pursuit, and exploitation without the directly controlled resources. It is the entrepreneur has the agency and autonomy to develop the ideas. They must do the work that other choose not to. It is through their actions that ideas are developed in viable business opportunities.
