**Finding the Beauty in Green Spaces: A Journey of Rediscovery** Recently, I rediscovered the incredible beauty of London through its green spaces. As I wandered through the city’s parks, gardens, and hidden patches of nature, I began paying closer attention to the ecology and the life that thrives in these spaces. It made me reflect on how, as humans, we coexist with these natural environments, especially for those of us who have grown up surrounded by the urban landscape. Growing up in a city like London often means being surrounded by buildings, concrete, and a fast-paced lifestyle that leaves little room for rest and reflection. Yet, this project has prompted me to rethink how I design my life—how I can carve out moments to rest, breathe, and connect with the natural world around me. It's about discovering and cherishing the "green scars" that weave through our cities, transforming them into spaces that inspire peace and reflection. As I launch my latest exhibition today, I want to explore this idea further. It’s an invitation to rethink how we interact with nature and to realize that even in a city as dense as London, there are natural gems closer than we might think. Whether it’s a small, tucked-away garden, a leafy square, or a quiet path in one of London’s many parks, these spaces are all around us, waiting to be discovered and appreciated. By caring more about these green spaces and the life they nurture, we are also caring for ourselves. When we pay attention to the ecology around us, we find ways to nurture our own well-being and creativity. So, wherever you are in London—or any city for that matter—I encourage you to slow down, explore, and connect with the green spaces nearby. You might be surprised at how much beauty and tranquillity are just around the corner. Exhibition: Contours of belonging Event launch FREE Date: September 11th 2024 Time: 4pm - 7:30pm Location: SPACE Ilford, 10 Oakfield Rd, Ilford IG1 1ZJ #artexhibition #exhibition #jewellery #fineart #filmart #londonartist

As I navigate the bustling streets of Paris during the Olympics, I'm reminded of Gustave Caillebotte's iconic painting, "Paris Street; Rainy Day." This masterpiece captures the essence of a city thriving despite the rain, a sentiment that resonates deeply with my current journey. Today, I had the pleasure of exploring Paris's most iconic landmarks: Montmartre: Moulin de la Galette, Place du Tertre, Sacré-Coeur Marais: Place des Vosges, Saint Paul, Saint Louis Pantheon Luxembourg Garden Les Invalides Eiffel Tower Champs-Élysées / Arc de Triomphe Much like Paris in the rain, the business world often presents challenges requiring resilience and adaptability. Rain, instead of dampening our spirits, can enhance the beauty and depth of our experiences. In business, it’s about navigating these "rainy days" and leveraging them to uncover new opportunities. https://bit.ly/3LH7ANq The Paris Olympics are a testament to perseverance and the power of coming together to celebrate excellence, much like how businesses must unite and innovate to achieve success. Walking through the historic streets, I drew parallels between these timeless landmarks and our business goals – each step forward brings us closer to our vision regardless of the weather. Embracing challenges, finding beauty in adversity, and continually striving for excellence are lessons Paris teaches us, whether through its art, streets, or rainy days during the Olympics. #BusinessInsights #Resilience #ParisOlympics #Leadership #Innovation #Adaptability #CulturalJourney #BusinessGrowth

This week's blog post takes us to my second hometown, Hong Kong, where we ascend to The Peak to capture the iconic Hong Kong skyline during the evening blue hour. We contemplate the remarkable success of this city, which evolved from a humble fishing village into a thriving economic hub in Southeast Asia. Additionally, we explore the cultural contrasts in the perception of density between the East and the West. Quiet Aperture is my blog about the stories behind the photographs I capture, as well as architecture, urban design, and urbanism. If you find it interesting, please consider subscribing and sharing it with anyone who may be interested. #architecture #urbandesign #urbanism #hongkong #photography #density

Thank you so much Kissa Castañeda for the mentions of our various projects in Travel + Leisure Co.! ❤️ “We’ve seen a huge shift over the last five years in hospitality groups becoming more engaged and interested in integrating visual art into their spaces. It’s no longer treated as mere ‘décor,’ but as a serious and integral element of a brand’s identity,” says Talenia Phua Gajardo, CEO and co-founder of The Artling, an art and design consultancy with an online gallery. “Many brands feel it’s no longer a nice-to-have feature but an essential one—sometimes even crucial to the success of a venue." Unlike traditional artworks on canvases placed in air-conditioned galleries, street art; from graffiti to murals, it is well found on the streets. You can see it on gutters, lampposts, demolished walls, parking lots, pavements, and basically anywhere. The pieces are often done late at night, when the police or guards aren't around to reprimand the artist for spray-painting on the walls. Street art still bears the stigma of being equated with vandalism. However, the local street artists prove that art goes beyond art fairs and exhibits, and even building owners, restaurateurs, and cultural agencies have commissioned them to design otherwise bare walls. To spot them, you should be on the lookout while driving around Metro Manila. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Imagine your next vacation with five-star service and support every step of the way. Top 5 Free Travel Attractions in Oslo Oslo, just like any other Norwegian city, is in every aspect a very pricey city. And if you are traveling on a budget, you may wish to save some share of your money. Here, we have listed the best free attractions for any tourist to visit in Oslo! 😉 1. Oslo Opera House. This exceptional building is a bright example of modern Nordic architecture and symbolizes a glacier floating in the Oslofjord. You can climb on the roof of this edifice without stepping a foot inside and enjoy a beautiful view of the city. Besides, you can enter the lobby for free or, even better, you may purchase a ticket and enjoy a performance. 2. Vigeland Sculpture Park. Frogner Park (as it is known among the locals) is home to an impressive, one-of-a-kind installation that consists of 212 sculptures and culminates in a huge monolith. All of these sculptures were designed by Gustav Vigeland, a prominent Norwegian architect, and they depict all aspects of human life. The park is accessible for free 24/7. 3. Oslo City Hall. The construction of this towering red-brick edifice (pictured on the photo) in the vicinity of Aker Brygge was completed in 1950, and it immediately became the city's landmark. The walls of the city hall feature prominent Norwegian art, which depicts the country's history, culture, mythology, and work life. There is no entrance fee. 4. Tjuvholmen Sculpture Park. This sculpture park is an installation in the affluent neighborhood of Tjuvholmen. The park is located just next to Astrup Fearnley Museum and it was designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano. 5. Stortinget. Generally, the Norwegian parliament is not accessible to the public. However, there are free guided tours that take place on Saturday (you can look up the dates and information on the website of Stortinget). Bear in mind that you cannot pre-book this guided tour, just show up at the agreed time. #oslo #norway #architecture #scandinavia #scandinavian #traveltips #traveltipsandtricks #traveladvice #traveladvisor #travelguide #travelgoals #traveler #traveleurope #TravelWithUs #travelworld #travelblogger #travelpics

For resorts and hotels aiming to captivate both global Gulf travelers and art aficionados, transforming your spaces into vibrant showcases for both local and international art can set you apart. This approach not only elevates the guest experience but also positions your property as a dynamic cultural hub, offering an immersive exploration into the world of art. Curating an Artistic Oasis: - Gallery Spaces within Hotels: Dedicate spaces within your property to function as art galleries, featuring rotating exhibitions that highlight the work of emerging and established artists. This initiative turns every stay into an opportunity for guests to engage with compelling artworks. - Local and International Collaborations: Foster collaborations with artists and galleries to bring diverse art forms to your guests. From traditional paintings and sculptures to contemporary multimedia installations, offer a platform that celebrates artistic diversity and innovation. - Art-Inspired Guest Experiences: Beyond static displays, organize interactive experiences such as artist-led workshops, gallery tours, and talks. These engagements allow guests to delve deeper into the art, understanding the techniques, inspirations, and stories behind the creations. Enhancing Your Resort’s Appeal: - Themed Accommodations: Design art-themed rooms or suites, where the decor is inspired by the works of featured artists, providing guests with a unique and immersive living space that celebrates creativity. - Art Concierge Services: Offer concierge services dedicated to art enthusiasts, providing expert guidance on the local art scene, including recommendations for gallery visits, art events, and private viewings. - Promoting Artistic Talent: Support the arts by not only showcasing artists' work but also facilitating purchases. This support extends the cultural impact of your initiative and provides tangible support to the artistic community. Marketing Your Artistic Venue: Utilize targeted marketing to highlight your hotel’s role as an art-focused destination. Showcase the range of artistic experiences available, from the art displayed within your walls to the cultural activities guests can partake in. Highlighting stories of artists and behind-the-scenes looks at the curation process can further engage potential visitors, positioning your hotel as a must-visit destination for those seeking a fusion of luxury accommodation and cultural enrichment. By integrating art into the fabric of your hotel, you create a space that not only offers relaxation and luxury but also enriches the minds and souls of your guests, making each visit a memorable journey through the vibrant world of art. #ArtfulJourneys #GalleryHotels #CulturalHospitality

The morning after my high school graduation, I began packing my bags. I wanted to move as far away from what I knew as possible. I chose Barcelona, a city where vibrant culture meets stunning architecture. 🌇 I was there to study. Determined to become an interior designer. The city was nothing short of breathtaking, and I was convinced that a change of scenery would solve all my problems and bring me the peace I was looking for. That year, I learned that you can't escape yourself. After only a few months, the initial awe I experienced and admiration of the city began to fade. 𝑰 𝒔𝒐𝒐𝒏 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒉: No matter where you go, your thoughts, habits, and unresolved issues follow you. One year later, I was on a plane headed back to the US, eerily similar to the closing scene from Vicky Cristina Barcelona (which ironically came out that same year). ✈️ My life would take a few more twists, turns, and disappointments before I found myself. But that experience taught me that true growth and peace come from within, not from your surroundings. Whether moving to a new city, switching jobs, or embarking on a new adventure, we often believe external changes can lead to internal transformation. The truth is—instead of running away, you're better off facing your inner challenges head-on and growing through them. 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭?
