First in Town or Second in City Would you rather belong to the top tier of employees in a small company or the second top tier in a big company? Would you rather be the second choice in a big sports team or the first choice in a small team? Would you rather stay in 5- stars hotel or in 4- stars hotel? Whenever I travelled on business I stayed in 5- stars hotels. However, and mainly when visiting a country for the first time, I preferred 4- stars hotels. The quality of services and recreation of 4- stars hotels do not match that of 5- stars hotel. However, the intimacy of local people I talking to them and building relationship with them in 4- stars hotels helped me understand the culture of the host country. It is the family spirit that made me feel comfortable. Working for big companies provides financial stability and greater growth opportunities than small companies. If you work for 4- star company you may get stuck in the same position for years, but also you enjoy the family spirit more. It all depends on what we want. In my recent travel i noticed this sign during my hotel stay. It really amazed me how they are using the word Talent to refer to their employees. Building on my 1 week stay i knew why, the staff were really talented they take their work very seriously and they know what hospitality means.
