Accelerate women in the workplace❗ This Women’s History Month (ehem, for those wondering, it's the month of March)...... Jennifer Hyman and the Rent The Runway team have kicked off a virtuous cycle of lifting women up through public recognition on LinkedIn. Across the month, Rent the Runway is gifting $1M in subscriptions to women who have recently experienced a recent professional accomplishment that deserves celebrating. :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: Upward progress for women in the workplace has been too slow. Jenn (Hyman) and the RTR team believe that a key accelerant for women in the workplace is a vocal community of advocates that publicly champion their successes and accomplishments.... ...especially since studies show that women are less likely to self-promote their professional accolades than their male counterparts. As a result —— their accomplishments become less visible. Rent the Runway is looking to change the conversation by encouraging women to show off and show out. Public celebration of women’s professional accomplishments needs to become normalized! :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: ➡️ NOMINATION PROCESS: Tag a deserving woman (it could be yourself), mention your or her recent accomplishment, and use the hashtag = #RTRShowOff #IWD2024 ➡️ HERE'S THE CATCH: Women who have a professional accomplishment MUST ADVERTISE that professional accomplishment –– a promotion, new job, successful launch, etc. This is awesome! ➡️ WHAT'S MORE: RTR will also be committing $1M in GMV* to Dress for Success Worldwide to ensure that even more women have the attire and confidence they need to excel professionally. :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: ➡️ NOW FOR THE DATA: Here's recent lift off in Absolute Consideration among a core audience for RTR. Nice work, Rent The Runway!

Deloitte M&A | Private Equity & Financial Investors lead for UK Strategy, Risk & Transactions Advisory | Sale and Purchase agreement advisory
As one of the few female business advisers in 1950s south west Scotland, my aunt would tell me stories of colleagues calling her clients to check if it was ok “to send a woman”. And, the neat solution when it wasn’t was for her to do the work (brilliantly, of course) back at the office undercover. She excelled, making partner against the odds - albeit her name wasn’t allowed to go over the door. Thankfully the stories I can share of my career working in 21st century Private Equity and the support network to work through challenges look somewhat unrecognisable from my aunt’s. I’ve experienced leaders who have encouraged me and opened doors, clients who actively see the value in widening perspectives in the advice we give, and teams who can turn up proudly as they are. Not to pretend that working in this industry is easy: it’s rewarding and fun yet demanding with no shortage of challenging days, set-backs and curve balls. If I had to share a piece of advice with other women in Private Equity then I would share what my aunt did with me that “obstacles will come in your way but believe you can achieve great things despite them”. This is something that I always go back to - as well as remembering the power of sharing stories of the ups and the downs (especially the downs!) with the next generation. On that note, I am excited to attend the With Intelligence’s Women's PE Summit Europe on 26 September. It will be great to listen to the Deloitte panel on the role of talent in driving greater returns, and hear the other topics fellow attendees are passionate about – all achieving great things despite the obstacles they are being thrown. Please do share any advice you have been given that you think may resonate with others. #DeloittePrivateEquity #WPESEU

💲 PAY THE POSITION 💲 Deloitte and the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) did a fantastic job celebrating women in business in this video. Even though we have come a long way in promoting and compensating women, we have work to do. What if we championed women leaders for their victories at work just as we do star athletes? Sometimes, even stepping out of the elevator or the car is tough, yet being a girl boss comes with many challenges. ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership reports that women CEOs in associations are still far behind in compensation but excelling in other industries. The report also shows that men are likelier to hold the CEO's corner office. In a recent meeting with a client to consult on executive compensation, I shared our tip on using the "GIRL" acronym to help remind you to stay objective and fair: 👉 Gather Data: Collect info on the role's responsibilities and market standards without gender bias. 👉Isolate Bias: Make initial compensation decisions before viewing personal details such as LinkedIn profiles. 👉Review Equitably: Compare compensation packages across similar roles and be consistent in valuing experience, education, and certifications. 👉Level the Field: Regularly audit and adjust practices to maintain gender fairness. I applaud the incredible women I work beside, with, and for. I commit to COMPENSATING, PROMOTING, championing, recognizing, and celebrating everything you contribute to my game! Read the ASAE article here: https://lnkd.in/g57JU_46 How do you promote and compensate? Join me in championing equality in the workplace! #FairPay #InclusiveWorkplace #WomenInBusiness #BiasFreeCompensation #HR #CompensationStrategy #BusinessOwners #TalentManagement #HRLeadership

Do watch my review of WB Directors (Women on Boards UK ) and Protiviti UK's report, launched today called Hidden Truth. (Report Link => https://lnkd.in/eucA5xUr) In the report we reveal the remarkable lack of diversity across the four positions of power in the FTSE and AIM listings, with women of colour holding less than 1% of top boardroom roles. The report includes the first in-depth analysis of the number of women in the roles of Chair, Senior Independent Director (SID), Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) across the FTSE All-Share and AIM companies. It found that just 13% of these top roles are held by women (436 women across 3,452 roles), despite the FTSE Women Leaders Review introducing a focus on these four roles and the Financial Conduct Authority going further to set a target for firms to have at least one woman in these positions. Notably, just 0.7% of these top roles are held by women of colour (25 women of colour across 3,452 roles). AIM listed firms show the lowest level of diversity with just 0.3% of these roles held by women of colour (seven women of colour across over 2,000 roles), while the proportion of senior roles held by women of colour in FTSE 100 is 1.5%
