Did you know? 💡 20 of the 27 public schools in High Point are considered Title 1, meaning that over 57% of students live in households with low incomes. 💡Amongst these schools, 4,381 students were chronically absent in the 2022-23 school year. Support the Leadership High Point Class of 2024 by contributing to our fundraiser for the Communities In Schools of High Point Resource Closet-- and combat chronic absenteeism by providing essential items to all 27 schools in High Point to distribute to students in need! Our goal is to raise $7,500 to purchase the items needed to fully stock the Resource Closet-- and you can help us get there! 🙂 Make a tax-deductible contribution here: https://lnkd.in/eJBFp3dg

Yes Jennifer Knopf and Kareem Weaver. And, as you know, the data so closely examined by school committees and leaders to evaluate school progress and student outcomes becomes complicated due to the influence of private tutoring. When external factors like private tutoring interfere with a study or assessment, the resulting data is flawed and misleading. In this case, the tutoring is a confounding variable. To accurately analyze the data, schools should include "private tutoring" as a variable and adjust for it statistically. Accounting for tutoring is crucial in assessing school progress and student outcomes effectively!
Thank you Kareem Weaver for the words and Georgia Ryan - Dyslexic Warrior for the post❤️ “Speech therapy, tutors, literacy specialists, homework club! How many of us could have avoided the enormous financial and time expense of these and other interventions, if reading in every school was taught using evidence-based, structured literacy programs underpinned by the science of reading? #untileveryonecanread Quote: the forever awesome Kareem Weaver” REED Charitable Foundation #UntilEveryTeacherIsTrained #UntilEveryChildCanRead

🎓 tnAchieves goes beyond the TN Promise scholarship by providing proactive coaching and administrative support to students at just $83 per year. Peer organizations often spend more than $2,000 per year, per student. tnAchieves is able to create tremendous impact with a much lower cost per student. On this Giving Tuesday, we are asking the community to consider giving to tnAchieves at one of four different tiers: ➡️ Give today and help us make a difference! tnAchieves.org/giving 📌 Tier 1: A one-time donation of $207.50 supports a tnAchieves student through graduation. 📌 Tier 2: A one-time donation of $83 supports a tnAchieves student for a full year. 📌 Tier 3: A one-time donation of $41.50 covers a semester at a community college for a student. 📌 Tier 4: A one-time donation of $20.08 celebrates our 2008 founding and continues our mission of supporting students across Tennessee. #GivingTuesday #tnAchieves #SupportEducation #StudentSuccess

It's officially "back to school" season! 📚✏️ The Dana Carmel Group is kicking off the new school year by donating $20,000 to the Menlo Park City School District and Menlo Atherton High School to support my children’s schools and our local community. I am a long-time, active Foundation member, and I know how much our school districts rely on Foundation support to provide quality education. Funds raised provide additional teachers, specialists, programs, and tools that make our schools extraordinary places for learning. That’s why we will donate $1,500 to your local school Foundation when you buy or sell a home with The Dana Carmel Group. This benefits both home values and school districts. A report by the National Bureau of Economic Research titled, “Using Market Valuation to Assess Public School Spending,” found that for every dollar spent on public schools in a community, home values increased by about $20. This increase directly translates to higher resale values. Send us a message to learn more! 📲 Dana Carmel Group | DRE 02076519
