Banking transformed my life in ways I never imagined. Growing up as a young Black kid in Louisiana, my earliest memories of banks were those Saturday morning trips with my mother to the local branch. I remember standing in long, winding lines, which I still believe were cleverly designed to make the wait feel shorter. Yet, the reward at the end—a lollipop from the friendly teller—made it all worthwhile. Like many in the banking industry, I stumbled upon this career path. As a child, I never dreamed of becoming a banker; I wasn't related to any bankers and, frankly, didn't know of any bankers. Initially, I set my sights on law, especially after realizing God didn't bless me with the additional 8 inches of height needed to achieve my true destiny to be the next Michael Jordan. However, fate intervened when a scheduling necessity led me to enroll in an "Intro to Commercial Banking" class during my undergraduate studies. From that moment, my journey in banking began. This career has opened doors I never thought possible. It has taken me to places I never dreamed of going, placed me in rooms I never imagined entering, and provided financial opportunities beyond my expectations (ok, that is a bit of a fib as I actually planned to be a a billionaire by 25). Most importantly, banking has allowed me to make a meaningful impact on business owners, employees, and communities. I feel truly blessed in both my personal and professional life. Now, I invite you to seize this opportunity and apply for the ABP or AHL fellowship. Don't let your blessing pass you by—this is the chance to transform your life and the lives of others through a career in banking. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Take your shot!
Applications for the 2025 Advancing Black Pathways (ABP) and Advancing Hispanics & Latinos (AHL) Commercial & Investment Banking Fellowships are now open! Both Fellowships target sophomore students (graduating between December 2026 - June 2027). The Fellowship Programs are principally aimed at attracting undergraduate sophomores who self-identify as Black, Hispanic, or Latino/a; however, all sophomores, regardless of background, who are interested in exploring opportunities at JPMorgan Chase, are welcome to apply. The 2025 Fellowships are structured as a five-week paid, full-time summer experience held in select JPMorgan Chase & Co. offices. Successful completion of the CIB Summer Fellowships will potentially lead to a 2026 CIB Summer Internship offer. ABL & AHL Fellowship applications will close Monday, January 13th. Please reach out if you or someone you know is interested in applying. ABP - https://lnkd.in/gPe-4TSm AHL - https://lnkd.in/gTqVZr8B #jpmorgan #advancingblackpathways #advancinghispaniclatinos #chase

Until I committed, I earned my certificate, and it shifted my perspective. Success requires being deliberate—carving out time to concentrate on your goals and taking deliberate steps to reach them.
