As I approach my second anniversary of working at Care Concern Group, it's a great time to reflect and look at what has been achieved with my team An overall Good from CQC was our first - and perhaps most crucial - achievement for the home after a previous Requires Improvement rating. The challenge was then to increase occupancy, reduce agency, and drive quality improvement. 2 years, or 24 months, or 736 days later..... Occupancy up by 50% and today - for the first time EVER - this home is FULL. Agency is down - this week our forecast is ZERO. Quality has been maintained but we are striving to be outstanding - note the lack of capitalisation. I truly believe that if you aim to jump through the moveable and subjective hoop of a regulatory rating, you will fail in one or more area. Aim to be outstanding in everything, rather than simply "Outstanding" and whether your regulator tells you this is the case or not, everyone around you will appreciate it and you will feel the benefits of much, much more than a blue box on a form. There have, of course, been challenges. But nothing that is worth doing is ever easy and every challenge adds to our experience and proves to ourselves just how resilient we really are. Time flies....

Late last year, my friend confided in me about feeling lonely and unaccomplished. Honestly, I could relate deeply, as I had been in a similar state that forced me to pause for almost two months. During those months of reflection, I realized we had been doing some things wrong: 1️⃣ We didn’t celebrate small wins because we were too focused on the bigger picture. 2️⃣ We overlooked small, daily activities which would result in those larger outcomes. 3️⃣ We failed to divide our goals into actionable items on a day-to-day and week-to-week basis. I encouraged her to set New Year's goals and then break them down to smaller, actionable tasks. We agreed to be accountability partners for each other by promising to check in on a weekly basis and review progress. We promise to celebrate all the small wins and keep each other motivated to keep going. Breaking down your goals is a great first step, but having an accountability partner can make all the difference. Find someone goal-oriented and supportive—someone who will uplift you, not weigh you down with unseriousness. As you walk into this new week, make your goals small and share them with someone who will keep you on track. Let's make this the year to celebrate every single step forward. PS:It's her birthday in a few days, and I am just so grateful for her! 📸 My accountability partner #AccountabilityPartner #GoalSetting #CelebrateSmallWins #StayMotivated #PersonalDevelopment #GrowthMindset #NewYearGoals #MentalHealth #Lifestyle #Journey #linkedIn #linkedInnurses I'm Mercy Sunmola, a Nurse and Confectionery Creator dedicated to healing and crafting delightful treats. OTA is proud to celebrate its 20th Anniversary. We are grateful for the clients and partners who have supported our team throughout our journey and become our lifelong friends! Here are 6 lessons I have learned from my experience running OTA for the past 20 years and that I try to live by. 1) Surround yourself with people whose company you enjoy and whom you respect and trust. Life is all about relationships and the company you keep. Be discerning. 2) Never ever procrastinate. Those who live by: “put off today what you can do tomorrow” are mistaken. Instead, zero in on the tasks at hand and complete them with a sense of urgency. Have a “don’t just talk about it” mindset. Get it done! 3) Take calculated risks. Always be on the look out for new opportunities. This may require extra thought and creativity and could lead you out of your comfort zone. But, risks can be rewarding. And if they don’t work out, but you gave it your all, you’ll have learned a lot. 4) Never give up. When a plan doesn’t unfold the way you wanted, you can cry in your soup for a few minutes, but then change your course and persevere. We all experience straight up bad days, weeks, and even years (as once told to me by my kids’ pediatrician). But remember that tomorrow is a new day that brings with it fresh possibilities. Nothing can replace a positive attitude. 5) Have fun and laugh a lot always. Life is not about finding the treasure at the rainbow’s end. It’s about enjoying the ride on the rainbow. Make sure you take the ride with those people who unconditionally love every crazy little thing about you. That journey will sustain you in the long run. 6) Help others. Show your gratitude for your own comforts by finding ways to be generous and kind to people in need. Your acts of kindness will bring you the most meaning and happiness to your life. We are excited about what’s to come for OTA in the next decades. Although the digital age is upon us, there will always be a need for live and in-person engagements to keep us connected as humans. See you On the Avenue!

🎉 Celebrating 5 Years of Hospitarian! 🎉 When we started Hospitarian, our goal was to merge our hospitality and marketing backgrounds to help hospitality businesses improve their impact through our “Hospitarian” approach to customer engagement and brand storytelling. However…NOT a news flash, of course…the pandemic quickly made that vision impossible to bring to life. It was an incredibly tough time, and we faced unprecedented challenges like many businesses. The hospitality industry was hit hard, and we had to think creatively and adapt quickly to survive. Inspired by our passion for teaching and mentorship, James and I decided to pivot that engagement and storytelling concept to build immersive, career-focused experiences. We went on the road across Indiana and beyond to hear from thousands of students, educators, companies, and community stakeholders. They shared their journeys and struggles, and we knew this was, as I like to say, “The Best Right Next Step,” for us and for our company to make a difference in a much bigger way. These were the foundations that have since become iXplore. The pivot certainly hasn’t come without its own challenges. Even as we have had to traverse many winding and unexpected paths these last 5 years, I feel immense gratitude for our clients, partners, and the incredible team that has become part of this journey with us. Your continued support has been invaluable and made all the difference. Reflecting on the last half-decade, I celebrate that the Hospitarian spirit – our belief that everyone deserves the opportunity for positive, authentic, impactful experiences – lives on in everything we do. While the pandemic pivot may have forced us to view the form those experiences take much differently than when we started, trusting the journey has led us here, and I couldn’t be more excited for where we are now and what’s to come next. So here's to the journey, as we chart the course for the next 5 years, continuing to innovate and build a brighter future for the next generation. Thank you for being with us through it all. 🥂 #Anniversary #Hospitarian #iXplore #Innovation #Gratitude #Journey #PositiveExperiences #CareerDiscovery #ThankYou
