It's true that Asian hospitality has made a significant mark on the global hospitality industry, often ranking at the top of "best hotel" lists. Asian hotels, particularly in countries like Japan, Thailand, and Singapore, are renowned for their impeccable service, attention to detail, and strong emphasis on personalized guest experiences. This level of care has helped them consistently stand out. While New York has a rich history in the luxury hotel scene, the competition worldwide is fierce, and the rise of hospitality in Asia reflects a broader shift in expectations and service quality. It's impressive to see how different regions bring their own cultural strengths to hospitality, creating a global standard for excellence. #besthotels #hospitality #luxury #lifestyle

I am amazed to see the 2024 World Best Hotels list... Have you been in any of those locations? Asia leads the global hotel market, with key players and top cities across continents sharing significant portions. Few takeaways: 1 - Hotel Distribution by Continent: Asia leads with 38%, followed by Europe at 26%, and North America with 18%. Africa, Australia, and Oceania each account for a smaller share at 8%, 4%, and 4% respectively, with South America holding just 2%. 2 - Hotel Ownership: Independent hotels represent 24% of the market. Notable groups include Rosewood and Four Seasons (each at 8%), Oetker Collection and Aman (both 6%), and other smaller chains such as Belmond, Capella, and Accor at 4% each. 3 - Top Cities by Hotels in the list: Bangkok takes the lead with 8%, while Paris and London each account for 6%. Key cities such as Dubai, New York, and Tokyo register 4%. 4 - Leading Countries by Hotels in the list: Thailand, Mexico, the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom, and France all share an equal 8% market, with Japan close behind at 6%. Affluent travelers love to stay at familiar luxury hotel chains wherever they are in the world, but still want to experience the culture of the country that they're visiting. The best in the game are managing to maintain brand consistency while adapting to each local market. 💡EDITION has plans to double its number of locations from 20 to 40 over the next decade. The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. currently operates over 100 hotels across 30 continents, including 16 in China. Meanwhile, W Hotels has more than 65 locations in over 30 countries. 💡 While macroeconomic uncertainty and elevated prices have tempered discretionary spending, the appetite for premium travel experiences remains robust. 💡Younger travelers are increasingly seeking yoga retreats, spa treatments, and even smart sleep technology, while older generations prefer more traditional comforts. I dissected how luxury hotels are the best lesson in global brand localization on Jing Daily. Featuring interviews with EDITION George Fleck and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. The World's 50 Best Hotels winners were recently announced at a ritzy London ceremony. Produced by William Reed, the awards are in their second year, following the success of The World's 50 Best Restaurants and Bars. These accolades are determined by nearly 600 anonymous voters, including journalists, hoteliers, advisors, and seasoned travelers, who rank seven hotels they've stayed in over the past two years. Special awards like Industry Icon and Most Admired Hotel Group are also given to Aman. Interestingly, only 16 of the 50 hotels are privately owned, with the rest belonging to larger groups like Rosewood and Four Seasons (three hotels). Notably, my favorites are Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok (#12), The Upper House, Hong Kong (#5), and Capella, Bangkok (#1) made the list. In Thailand, Michelin announced the first Michelin Keys, highlighting some surprising yet deserving names. Unsurprisingly, some big names were absent due to outdated operations and questionable mindsets. Michelin Keys focuses on excellence in design, service, and contribution to the locale, offering a different perspective from The World’s 50 Best Hotels. I'd love to see more intimate, idiosyncratic, independent hotels and experience-driven hospitality recognized beyond the usual suspects on influencers' Instagrams. #Worlds50BestHotels #MichelinKeys #LuxuryTravel #HospitalityAwards #TravelInspiration #HotelDesign #BangkokHotels #TravelExperts #LuxuryHotels #TravelAwards

We're pleased to announce that our Italian Hotel Market Review 2024 is out now! The report provides a cross-regional overview of transaction volumes, hotel supply, and trends in consumer demand, looking into the sector's growth and outlook for the Italian provinces. It also highlights the contrasts and dynamics of the regional markets, and shows that Italy’s robust tourism industry is poised to offer more investment opportunities. “Despite its long history of tourism and hospitality, and consequently an advanced degree of maturity within the upscale and luxury segments, as evidenced by the numerous new internationally branded openings in key cities, there is a sizeable opportunity for further regeneration of the offering, through conversions, rebranding and new development within the economy to upper-midscale segments. This boost in investment should find a home within both established areas and the wider tourism landscape of Italy”, said Gabriele Capacci, Hotels Consultant at Christie & Co.
