Understanding the Human Impact of Macular Disease The latest survey conducted by Macular Disease Foundation Australia in 2023 sheds light on the experiences of nearly 2,000 individuals living with macular disease. This comprehensive survey delves into mental health, barriers to persisting with anti-VEGF injections, and low vision aids and technology. Key learnings included: ·        Mental wellbeing challenges affect over 15% of respondents, with one in five requiring support ·        3% of people with neovascular AMD forego recommended eye injections ·        10% cite cost as a barrier to treatment, and ·        Despite 70% recognising the value of low vision aids, accessibility remains a hurdle. Macular Disease Foundation Australia has launched Eye Connect – a support service for people living with AMD, which helps address these key learnings. Consider referring your AMD patients to this valuable service. Read more on MDFA’s website. https://lnkd.in/g6KQupAX Macular Disease Foundation Australia Kathy Chapman #EyeConnect #MDFA #AMD
