The Youth Voice and Empowerment program is working to change that with innovative financial products tailored to the needs of our young people. CEO Josiah Moriasi and team, today held a meeting with the Government Spokesperson, Hon. Sen (Dr.) Isaac Mwaura, to explore collaborative efforts aimed at raising awareness of YEDF’s products and services among young people across the country. The discussions focused on the development and implementation of a comprehensive sensitization program to bridge information gap and ensure youth are fully aware of opportunities available to them. In his remarks, Mr. Moriasi underscored the importance of reaching the youth with timely and accurate information. “While the Youth Fund has been instrumental in empowering young entrepreneurs through affordable credit, many youth remain unaware of these opportunities. This information gap has hindered many from benefiting from the programs we offer. We wish to work together to leverage a wider network of communication platforms to ensure that every young Kenyan knows how to access our services,” he said. Hon. Mwaura expressed his support for the partnership, acknowledging the critical role YEDF plays in youth empowerment. “Disseminating information requires a joint effort from all government. We shall work to implement an extensive awareness campaign using multiple channels to connect with young people. This initiative will not only ensure that youth are better informed but also reinforce the Government’s commitment to addressing youth economic challenges,” he said

I applaud this scheme. It would be good to see a coherent children's and young people's framework to support a socially just allocation of funding to local areas/organisations working in a systematic manner with other departments and organisations (e.g. Department for Education Sport England). By mapping inputs and outputs across programmes, the whole will most likely be greater than the sum of the parts. https://lnkd.in/eHyKeXqc

Funding Alert! The ITF funds trans-led groups working to benefit the trans community and contributing to trans movement building. Your group does not need to be registered to apply for funding. We have one grantmaking cycle per year and we only accept complete applications. Eligibility Criteria To be eligible for funding groups must be meet the following criteria: -Trans led; (1) Trans people are in decision-making roles, including setting the organization’s strategic and financial priorities and (2) Trans people make up 75% of the group’s staff, and Board, spokespeople, and/or decision-making body. If not, groups must demonstrate how trans people make budget, organizational and strategic decisions. -Operating budget under $100,000. -Group of people (i.e. Not an individual). -The main focus of work is to benefit the trans community. -Contributes to movement building, not just providing direct services. Let us not mince words: South African youth are hungry, and not for empty promises, but for real, tangible opportunities. We, at the South African Youth in Property Association, are not here to beg for scraps from the table. We are here to build new tables, new structures, new futures. SAYIPA was born out of necessity—because for far too long, the doors of this industry have remained closed to the youth, bolted by barriers of access, mentorship, and investment. Tonight, I stand before you with a clear message: we are not here to play. We are here to disrupt, to transform, and to take action. This country is rich in talent, yet our youth are locked out of an industry that speaks volumes about potential but whispers when it comes to actualizing it.
