The four elements: Earth. Air. Fire. Water. In two of my novels, a character explains how one or more come to dominate in a person’s heart. Are you a stable, dependable earth person, good soil for ideas and healthy habits to take root? Or are you an air person, a carrier of information, news and new things, a breeze that can lift someone up? Or perhaps you’re a fire person warm and passionate about what you do? Or a water soul flowing out to others with support and nourishment? And as we’ve seen in the aftermath of Helene, though, each of these can be problematic, and not just wind and water. Fire can warm or burn. Water can refresh or destroy. Which element or two might dominate in you? And how do you control it for the positive?

Here's a bit more about my Hellfire Effect book! I took advantage of using "creative liberties" in describing a time and place currently familiar to most of us. It is a unique story plot. I used personal experiences as a source of inspiration for many of the characters and events portrayed. I want my readers to feel the story, more so than to be entertained! I desire for the Hellfire Effect mystery to stimulate many "What if?" conversations. Get your copy now! Hellfire Effect: Thou Shalt Not Kill https://a.co/d/1z7OjWO

6 powerful lessons from the book The Ten Types of Human: A New Understanding of Who We Are, and Who We Can Be by Dexter Dias: 1. We are all complex individuals with a variety of different motivations and behaviors. Dias identifies ten different types of humans, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. 2. Our experiences shape who we are. Our childhood experiences, our relationships, and our traumas all contribute to who we become. 3. We are capable of great good and great evil. We have the potential to be both heroes and villains. 4. We have the power to change. We are not defined by our past experiences or our current circumstances. We can choose to change our thoughts, our behaviors, and our lives. 5. We are all connected. We are all part of the human race, and we are all interconnected. We need each other in order to thrive. 6. We have a responsibility to make the world a better place. We can use our unique gifts and talents to make a positive difference in the world. 18.08.24 @01:54

It was a joy to talk about the wisdom of uncertainty in writing and in life w/ Amy L. Bernstein for her incisive Doubt Monster substack! Thank you, Amy, for underscoring uncertainty's critical importance to the future of humanity. Unless we learn to skillfully be unsure, we can't solve the mounting complex problems of our day. That's sobering, but Uncertain is a book filled with strategies, stories, and hope. https://lnkd.in/dUkjXzXE
