Hire people you can depend on, especially in the early years of your startup. You need people who can identify & solve problems on their own, not those with a mindset to finish off tasks. #startup

For 99.9% of people, quitting your job to launch a startup is a terrible idea ❌ Here’s a process I see time and time again: 1️⃣ Someone decides to start a company. 2️⃣ They find an idea. 3️⃣ They raise funding, hire a team, build the idea. 4️⃣ The idea doesn't work, but they raise more funding to keep iterating. 5️⃣ The idea still doesn't work and they start asking their customers what they really need. 6️⃣ They restart the business around this new idea. Sometimes the restart works. Most of the time it doesn’t. To anyone reading this who wants to be a founder/launch a startup: don’t be embarrassed to start small. Your focus should be on validating that people care about the problem you’re solving and will pay for your solution. Do the small steps before the leap of faith. #founders #startup #vc #business

This post below is so important for first time founders. You don’t have to and often shouldn’t just quit your day job when you are at the idea stage and you have not been a founder before. I have seen first time founders with only an idea being advised to quit their job and go all in. This is incredibly risky unless you are already wealthy enough to be able to absorb potentially several years of no earnings. Especially important to consider if you have a family to support. There is a point in an early stage startup when all founders have to fully commit. It’s hard work. But be mindful not to cut off your earnings before that.
