If you join a workshop, you may think the consultant is only contributing that 4-6 hours time for you. But in fact we have to use a lot of time in the backend, including: ✅understanding clients’ needs ✅crafting proposals ✅creating props and presentation decks ✅coordination with training venues ✅adjusting the training content for the learners before an actual training session. Just like a chef preparing for a meal. The chef does not only start cooking at the point you order the food, such as marinating and cutting the food beforehand. Across any business in any industry, you're going to have uniformity and consistency issues. In the coming months, especially with a new restaurant on the horizon, we're working on an "error free" goal for our training and restaurant teams. It means training to 100% and achieving 100%. While there are many things outside our control where 100% isn’t humanly possible, there are also a ton of things that actually can be perfect or always perfect. A key is ensuring that the training is really teaching to that level, having a measurement, and determining when zero tolerance will actually mean zero tolerance. I’m working on having a higher level of what I call “appropriate intolerance”. And I know that the first place to start is in the mirror with the quality of the training. #servicetraining #errorfree #restaurantops #training

A BREAKDOWN OF SOME COMMON CATEGORIES OF CULINARY TERMS Some of you know and/or remember that I used to teach at what used to be one of the best culinary schools 😊 Professional culinary terms are specific vocabulary and jargon used by chefs and culinary professionals to describe cooking techniques, ingredients, plating, and the overall culinary process. Understanding these terms is essential for effective communication in a professional kitchen. I need/want to share my knowledge/documents with a wider audience. Still, I am unsure how to do it effectively. I believe in "sharing is caring", a fundamental community and human connection principle.
