I don’t have all the answers. Let’s find solutions together and not be divisive or derogatory.

I don’t know about you, but I believe it’s well past time for Congress to repeal the Gun Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. This will enable us to effectively limit gun access and hold all people responsible when they access and use guns irresponsibly like other developed countries. We need to end most of the insane and unneeded gun violence ASAP. “As the NRA crumbles around it, the gun industry still has one “Stay Out of Jail Free Card” in its back pocket: the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, which Congress rubber-stamped in 2005 at the behest of the NRA. This law granted the gun industry nearly unprecedented legal protection. By way of comparison, if other industries enjoyed similar protections, car airbags might still be optional, Purdue Pharma might still be peddling opioids like Pez, and Joe Camel might still be pitching cigarettes to kids. To understand how cravenly the gun industry has taken advantage of its favored status, consider its refusal to implement even the most basic safety measures. For instance, these days even the cheapest smartphones can include a fingerprint lock, but not guns — and that’s because manufacturers would rather spend their R&D budgets on gadgets to make guns shoot faster, hold more ammo, and get around gun safety laws. The fallout of a gun industry unbound by even a passing concern for human life has been devastating. While shootings have dipped from the highs we saw during the pandemic, 120 Americans are still killed every single day by gun violence, and another 200 are wounded. Shamefully, many of the victims are kids, with gun violence now the leading cause of death for American children and teens — a statistic that would prompt emergency action in almost any other country.” #NRA #insanity #gunsecurity #gunaccess #gunregistration #gunregulation #commonsense #guncontrol

I saw some great common sense posted by someone I hope becomes a connection for me. For some reason, his comment has been deleted which is complete nonsense unless he did it himself. To all you NRA supporters, feel free to spew your venom on me. I can take it!

As long as the GOP gets financial rewards from NRA, nothing will change. This is why voting for the right party is important.

Now you've got a Supreme Court avowing to apply interpretations of the Constitution through the lens of the late 18th century when it was drafted, so called originalist interpretation, perhaps membership of a militia in the Second Amendment might be tied, as it was clearly intended, to the right to bear arms. Let's hope. If it did your suggested repeal might withstand constitutional muster.

As I live in a country where guns are far less of a day to day experience it is difficult to understand the extent of the problem. That’s not to say guns and the case of the UK knifes are not a problem but in the U.S. it seems you have gone past the tipping point where there is any opportunity to tackle the problem. All you can do is try and minimise it.

Another great post by you Tom Buffo on really really important things for the USA 🇺🇸 to bring itself into modern day standards

In 2022, the US gun and ammo industry had $21B in revenue and there were 12 child gun deaths per day. In the same period, the US toy industry revenue was $102B and there were 11 toy-related child deaths all year. The gun industry has about one fifth the revenue of the toy industry and more than 300 times the child deaths. Why? Maybe it's because the US has the most stringent regulations for toy safety in the developed world, and for guns, the least. This new regulation will certainly help, but we have a long way to go.

Tom Buffo - Gun laws "SCREAM" for both "TERM LIMITS" AND "FAIR, and REASONABLE LEGISLATIVE, EXECUTIVE AND JUDICIAL BRANCHES of government that REPRESENT "WE THE PEOPLE" not a bunch of wealthy people and oligarchs who currently run our government. Term Limits, Legislative equality, and a court system THAT IS NOT RUN BY WHITE MEN, is the only way to get rid of the current set of gun laws. Remember the 2nd amendment states: "A WELL REGULATED MILITIA!!!" NOT A GUN IN EVERY STORE, SCHOOL, AND HOME!!!!! THANK YOU AND GREAT POST!!!

I wish you success with these initiatives from the deepest of my heart 😊❤️ Let lives be saved
