SWEDISH-ESTONIAN COOPERATION IS THE KEY TO COMPETITIVE SUSTAINABILITY! 🇪🇪🇪🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪 In Estonia, sustainability has come to be naturally integrated in business as well as the public sector. Estonia is already one of the few countries that meets WHO's air quality benchmarks, reflecting its commitment to environmental protection. The country is also well on its way to being entirely powered by renewable energy by 2030, with significant investments in wind and solar power. Here, they also invest significantly in research and development, which is crucial for driving progress in sustainability and innovation. This creates opportunities for joint R&D projects with Swedish partners. There is an insight here that in order to achieve true sustainability, one must improve the quality of life of the country's inhabitants in parallel with protecting the environment, saving natural resources and acting within a circular economy – something that ultimately increases economic competitiveness. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Precisely the balance between the three pillars of the concept of sustainability is something that has proven to be a successful path for the country's companies and organizations - and something that is directly in line with Swedish values, explains Tom Holgersson, who works as Head of Export at Enterprise Estonia in Stockholm. Enterprise Estonia is an organization whose task is to support Estonian companies in all areas of development, but his specific task as a representative in Sweden is to increase awareness of opportunities to do business in Sweden. ✍ Signature highlight! ✍ We are happy to share that Finnish EU candidate Ville Kaunisto (EPP) signed our manifesto, demonstrating his support for the cleantech transition and a future of sustainable innovation. 🌿 💡 Ville shared his perspective in the following words: ”Strong European single market is the key for Europe’s success. With past and on-going crises the politicians have taken the easy way out with massive state aids and implementing excessive regulation. This is not the right way for Europe. Cleantech can give Europe the edge in the global competition. We need more freedom and more competition with political stability and predictability for businesses and investors to succeed in Europe.” In our manifesto, we also highlight the importance of the single market in driving cleantech growth and the need for a predictable policy landscape. We are thrilled that Ville shares our perspective on this matter and are grateful to have his support as we move forward! 🚀 🌍 See the manifesto in full and follow signatures here: https://lnkd.in/dWszDebG Breakthrough Energy Tuomas Oksanen Jussi Teijonsalo Magnus Agerström Alexander Lidgren Eva Andersson Ville Kaunisto Merja Kyllönen

🌱#Incap significantly contributes to environmental sustainability by focusing much of our production on green energy solutions. 🌍 One of our factories, #IncapEstonia, is located in Estonia, which was ranked #1 among 180 countries for environmental performance according to the Environmental Performance Index compiled by Yale University and Columbia University. Over the last decade, only five countries — Estonia, Finland, Greece, Timor-Leste, and the United Kingdom — have cut their GHG emissions at the rate needed to reach net zero by 2050. 💡 We believe that Estonia could become a green and smart industrial country – we contribute reducing environmental impact in production and developing energy-saving smart solutions. In 2004, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia joined the European Union. In 2005, all three Baltic states became members of NIB, further integrating them into the Nordic-Baltic family. 20 years later, enhancing partnerships and strengthening regional integration is as important as ever. Our Igors Kasjanovs moderated a discussion in #Helsinki about advancing Latvia’s priorities, green technologies and renewable energy projects as well as on the experience of Latvian and Finnish companies doing business in #Latvia after joining the #EU. Thanks to Aija Timofejeva of Latvia’s Klimata un enerģētikas ministrija/Ministry of Climate and Energy, Neste’s Katri Taskinen and Ieva Azanda of ATTORNEYS AT LAW AZANDA & ASSOCIATES for good talks on how #Finland and #Latvia can achieve their common goals together. As Aotearoa navigates the critical transition towards a sustainable, low carbon economy, the role of local line companies becomes increasingly significant. These companies are pivotal in ensuring our energy infrastructure can meet rising demand while facilitating the sustainable transition. To achieve these goals in a cost-effective manner, adopting innovative technologies and making better use of existing infrastructure is essential. Not only will this enhance the efficiency of our local line companies, but it will serve to mitigate potential increases in consumer prices. Ensuring consumers and other stakeholders understand how well these companies are performing is another important step in ensuring industry-wide improvements. To help enable this, we have commissioned Cambridge Economic Policy Associates (CEPA) to analyse the productivity of New Zealand's local lines companies over the 2008-2023 period. We invite feedback on CEPA's draft report. This input will be invaluable in guiding our approach to measuring productivity in the future - please share your perspectives by Wednesday, 24 April here: infrastructure.regulation@comcom.govt.nz Read the report here 👉 https://rb.gy/jdyjde

We have just published a draft assessment of the long term productivity performance of electricity distribution businesses (EDBs) in Aotearoa NZ. It shows a sustained decline in the productivity indices. It is sometimes said that "productivity isn't everything, but in the long run, it is almost everything." We all may have different views on this; here's mine: accurately measuring productivity performance is important, especially at times of rising costs and consumer prices. Lower productivity, when accurately measured, means we are paying more for the same. Technological change offers unprecedented opportunities for EDBs to improve productivity. We are keen to hear your views on how to improve the measurement of productivity. You can access the analysis here: https://rb.gy/jdyjde. Please send us your feedback to infrastructure.regulation@comcom.govt.nz by Wednesday 24 April.
