"Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid only of standing still" Chinese proverb It is always good to look back at your work and realise how much you have actually achieved. A year ago I started my journey with food photography & joined Emma Dunham's food photography academy after participating in her 5 day food photography challenge. One of the first photographs I took on the course was of macarons, with a glass and blossom behind. •Was it a good photo? It was ok, I was pleased at the time, although technically it was not so good. •Had I created any mood or atmosphere? Nope, it was a pretty picture but that's about it. •Was the hero obvious? Nope, there was no clear separation between hero & props. A year on and I've been photographing macarons again, however this time it's a very different photograph. The lighting I've used has created the atmosphere & mood, and there is an obvious hero. Is it a good photograph?
