As global automotive brands go green, hydrogen and electric vehicles dominate the sustainability initiative. However, a Nordic solution—biogas—could revolutionize the industry. Volvo is leading the way by converting its Taizhou facility in China to biogas, making it the brand’s first climate-neutral site in the country, reducing over 7,000 tonnes of CO2 annually. Biogas, produced through anaerobic digestion of organic waste, offers carbon neutrality by balancing emissions with the CO2 absorbed during plant growth. It’s a cost-effective, scalable, and versatile fuel source, supporting circular economy principles by converting waste into energy. Unlike hydrogen, which has infrastructure challenges, biogas can be integrated with existing systems, making it accessible for manufacturers and consumers alike. Volvo’s commitment to biogas demonstrates its potential to compete with hydrogen and EVs, promoting a future where mobility is efficient and truly sustainable. #Volvo #Biogas #GreenEnergy #SustainableMobility #CarbonNeutral #CircularEconomy #RenewableEnergy #AutomotiveInnovation #ClimateChange #NordicSecret #GreenTechnology #FossilFuelAlternative #FutureOfTransport #ZeroEmissions #EnvironmentalSustainability

https://lnkd.in/gKasu_ty Now all that New Zealand needs is a Renewable biogas supply to fuel them! This option makes a whole lot more sense than either Electric or Hydrogen and the raw material to produce this is all around us in the biodegradable waste streams from our primary processing and if we need more raw material, we can grow it! So why is biogas so ignored in the mainstream?

Syntech ASB - the UK's most sustainable biofuel to replace fossil diesel. Our completely sustainable biofuel is available for delivery across the UK. We proudly manufacture it in Britain, it holds full ISCC accreditation, meets the stringent criteria required of BS EN 14214 to serve as a drop-in replacement, or blend, for fossil diesel, and has OEM approval. Entirely Made in Britain our biofuel has far, far less travelled carbon than HVO because it does not travel thousands of international miles to reach UK shores. This fact alone is significant enough for any business that is serious in wanting to reduce carbon to replace fossil diesel. We ensure that any distance travelled throughout the lifecycle of Syntech ASB, right up to the point we deliver to customers' sites, is the absolute minimum possible. The port has been using VARO’s HVO100 (100% Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) for its fleet since 2018. This biofuel is made entirely from sustainable materials, and reduces the fleet’s CO2 emissions by up to 89% compared to conventional diesel fuel. The biofuel can be mixed with conventional diesel in any ratio and is suitable – without modifications – for all current diesel engines. For this reason, HVO is a very accessible and cost-efficient way to reduce CO2 emissions...

Volvo Trucks is expanding its range of models adapted for B100 biodiesel. This move is in line with the company's strategy to reduce the impact of trucks on the climate. B100 is now available for a wide range of engines in Volvo FL, FE, FM, FMX, FH, and FH16 models. "Our clients are asking for solutions that will help them reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and renewable fuels are an attractive option—it's simply an effective way to reduce CO2 emissions from transport here and now," says Jan Hjelmgren, director of product management and quality at Volvo Trucks. The reduction in CO2 emissions from using biodiesel ranges from 30% to 70% compared to traditional diesel, depending on the type of raw material used to produce the fuel. The current range of medium and heavy Volvo trucks is offered with powertrains fueled by diesel, biodiesel, HVO, CNG (compressed natural gas), LNG (liquefied natural gas), Bio-CNG, Bio-LNG, and electricity.
