Communicating results to research participants is a small thing for researchers, and big thing for participants! It can take a long time for "results" to happen in scientific research, but usually being part of research is an interesting and unique experience for the general public so I can assure you, participants do not forget!
Anyone who has spent more than 10 minutes talking to me would have heard me drop the fact that I am a twin. It's an important part of my identity! As a scientific researcher, I know how important twins are for research too.
My twin and I often participate in studies facilitated through Twins Research Australia - which are always interesting and a great opportunity to talk about my passion for science with my twin sister (who is not a scientist).
Today we received an update from a study we participated in (more on that published here: https://lnkd.in/gScvTfht )
As a research participant it was very exciting to learn what our little exercises contributed to, and what can be learned. I am seeing my twin sister tonight so we will definitely be chatting about the findings. Thanks Dr Kettlewell at UTS for keeping us informed!
