It's Five Star Friday! Thanks to Rudy for this review: I had about 200' of picket fence that was in sorry shape. About one third of the posts were rotten. Top Rail Fence removed the old fence and replaced it with a new one that included one gated section which was done with aluminum. They did a wonderful job at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them.

Did you know that we can supply complete waling systems to suit a variety of wall configurations? Waling usually comprises of two rolled steel channel sections placed back-to-back and spaced to allow the #tierods to pass between the channels. This spacing must allow for the diameter of the #tierod and the thickness of any protective material applied to the rod, and take into account any additional space required if the tie rods are inclined and need to pass between the walings at an angle.

Proper prep work is key for a lasting repair.
Failed caulking and mortar joints are common but avoidable with the right techniques. Here’s what went wrong in these examples: 🔵Caulking Issues: - Old sealant wasn’t removed (Urethanes and silicones don’t bond) - Missing backer rod reduces flexibility and durability - Sealant is too thin for the width of the joint 🔵Mortar Issues: - Thin application over unprepped joints = no lasting bond Got questions about your building?
