"Today, we celebrate Iqbal Day, honoring the legendary poet, philosopher, and visionary, Dr. Allama Iqbal. Known as the 'Spiritual Father of Pakistan,' Iqbal’s thoughts went beyond poetry; he encouraged us to rise above limitations, envision greatness, and embrace our potential to bring about change. Iqbal’s poetry has a timeless quality, speaking to universal themes of self-discovery, resilience, and the courage to think beyond the ordinary. His concept of Khudi (selfhood) is a powerful reminder of the strength within each of us, encouraging us to build strong, self-aware identities that contribute meaningfully to society. Iqbal didn’t just ask us to dream – he pushed us to translate our dreams into reality, to be leaders and thinkers who work towards progress and unity. In today’s fast-paced world, Iqbal’s philosophy remains incredibly relevant. His message resonates with the challenges we face as individuals and communities. Let’s honor his legacy by committing to our own growth and the growth of our society. Let’s strive to be resilient, to seek knowledge, and to build a future that aligns with Iqbal’s vision of a society grounded in justice, integrity, and compassion. As we remember Iqbal today, may we be inspired to bring his vision to life, not just in words but through action. His legacy is our guide – let’s uphold it with purpose and passion. #IqbalDay #AllamaIqbal #LegacyOfIqbal #Khudi #Inspiration #Visionary #Unity #Leadership"

The Irony of Celebrating Allama Iqbal's Legacy Today, we commemorate the birth anniversary of Pakistan's national poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. While we eagerly observe a public holiday, a stark reality remains: Less than 1% of Pakistanis have read Allama Iqbal's books. The philosophy of Iqbal, which emphasizes self-awareness, spiritual growth, and national pride, remains elusive to many. We celebrate his day, but have we truly embraced his message? A Disconnect Between Tribute and Understanding We name institutions, roads, and monuments after Iqbal, but: How many have delved into his poetic masterpieces, such as "Asrar-e-Khudi" or "Javid Nama"? How many understand the essence of his concept of "Khudi" (selfhood)? Revitalizing Iqbal's Legacy To truly honor Allama Iqbal's legacy: Let's promote critical thinking and self-reflection. Let's encourage reading and discussing his works. Let's instill national pride and unity. A Call to Action On this anniversary, commit to: Reading at least one of Iqbal's books. Sharing his poetry and philosophy with others. Reflecting on how his ideas can inspire positive change. Let's bridge the gap between tribute and understanding. The nation needs to know Allama today like never before. Iqbal is much needed then ever. #AllamaIqbal #IqbalDay #Pakistan #NationalPoet #Philosophy #SelfAwareness #NationalPride #Legacy #CriticalThinking #BookLovers #Leadership

'Hind Swaraj' is a pivotal work by Mahatma Gandhi, written during his transit from England to South Africa in November 1909. Banned by the British Empire in 1910, this book encouraged Indians to celebrate their cultural and civilizational roots. This critical edition by dhananjay rai help critically engage with the life, philosophy and works of Gandhi. Epistulae Morales ad Lucilium Finishing this little book and these are some of my favourite takeaways: 1) You can commit injustice by doing nothing. 2) Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one. 3) It is difficulties that show what men are. 4) It is the nature of the wise to resist pleasures, but the foolish to be a slave to them. 5) Wealth is the slave of a wise man and the master of a fool. Next read: The Incoherence of the Incoherence (Arabic: تهافت التهافت Tahāfut al-Tahāfut) by Andalusian Muslim polymath and philosopher Ibn Rushd / Averroes.
