100% spot on. I've been saying for years that hospitality needs retail and retail needs hospitality. Areas of Glasgow have suffered from relocation of offices, working from home and hybrid roles. Cycle lanes, parking charges, lez the list is endless. I had a good conversation with a lady last night about tourism and what Scotland and Scotgov is doing for that also. Support and radical change is needed. Great post.

They have deliberately hollowed out city and town centres for their socialist ideology. They want people at home not mobile in sociable environments. That's too hard to censor.

The hospitality industry is not the same as other industries and needs to be support to help support the economy grow. A strong , thriving hospitality sector feeds a huge number of other industries and is a key contributor to the economy.

Literally every person in hospitality should be on this post commenting for reach and education on the challenge that faces hospitality. We bring the joy, we bring the excitement but mostly we provide the experience!

Scotgov is made up of mostly younger, inexpeirenced people who have never worked or run a business they have no idea of the value that hospitality brings to the economy, now the Labour party have shown the same lack of  financial nous with the increased costs which will kill off many once thriving businesses

Shut down the public house to keep people at home as isolated, sad people are easier to manipulate and control. The agenda is transparent!!

You are correct there is a knock on effect to other industries when people stop going out. There is no one joining the dots however, if these businesses close isn’t that less taxes in the pot, less jobs etc? 🤯

You give a compelling argument to better support the industry. Doubtful anyone in govt cares, but the amount of industries negatively affected by declining hospitality is huge.

You have nailed it Justin.
