📣 The banner is down! 📣 I started my job search in late April of this year. 75 days later, I signed an offer. Things that helped: 1) My #Opentowork sign! The recruiter hiring for my role reached out to me directly via LinkedIn. I didn't apply to the job until after we had an initial chat. 2) I applied outside of the tech sector but stayed within HR: retail, warehouse/distribution, and construction were all solid in growth. 3) I sourced as many jobs as I could throughout the week and weeded them out in my Teal job tracker later based on the percentage of qualifications I met in the job description. **If I didn't meet 60% of the qualifications, I didn't apply. This kept my applications targeted. **The exception was if it was a job I really wanted - I allowed myself one delusional job application a week for funsies. Excited to share more as my Day 1 approaches! 💛

Can we stop disqualifying candidates for "job hopping"? Instead of assuming someone lacks commitment, assume the reason they changed job was out of their control. Good morning folks! Here’s another week of searching and it’s getting harder. Rejections from entry level roles, ignored when asking for feedback or some kind of correspondence, feeling like a failure. What more can I do?
