Are you feeling stuck? Does your career feel like it’s going nowhere? Are you a product manager going day-by-day on auto-pilot? Many of us product managers will face this at some point of our careers; the feeling of stagnation. It’s when our motivation dips and productivity suffers. It’s characterized by things like lack of enthusiasm for what we do, little to no growth or new skills, and even the feeling of being overlooked for promotions, raises, or new projects. So, what can we do to combat stagnation? After hearing from many of you, here are were the top three ways to overcome the feeling: - Set new goals, preferably SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound) - Seek feedback, preferably from people who won’t hold back and spare your emotions - Expand your network, even with people who work product outside your company or industry From my experience, I’d like to add an honorable 4th way: Every day, reflect on what you did and what you need to do tomorrow. Every week, reflect on your progress towards your overarching goals and desires. And, every month, reflect on whether or not you’re on track to your goals and desires or if you need to course correct. What about you? What’s your take on keeping our careers moving forward and not running stale? Comment below! #productmanagement #productmanagers #careergrowth #stagnations #rut #goalsetting #feedback #networking

I got promoted from a customer-facing role to a product manager role. Steal my framework and grab your promotion in the next 3 months 👇🏻 There was a PM opening and I was itching to level up (just like many of you!) The scope of work was exciting, but I had zero product experience. Yet, I walked into my manager's office and told her I was interested. They ended up opening a new cross-functional role for me. Here is the exact playbook I used to make it happen: ✓ Built credibility every single day I captured all my wins. Big and small. I went as far as to curate how I’ve improved over the weeks and months. Progress is power. ✓ I knew which opportunities I wanted to grab. I went to my manager to show her that I was hungry and ready to contribute more. (Note: Step 1 is crucial for this to happen.) ✓ Despite zero Product experience, I showcased my critical thinking skills by highlighting leadership and team alignment experience, how I closed budget meetings in a past role, and what building a product in grad school taught me. ✓ I highlighted how I could ease into the role since I already had the context of business priorities, stakeholder working style, internal allies and what they felt about me. ----- I’ve used these steps to secure many internal promotions to the Director level and taught hundreds of professionals. If you would like a custom roadmap to move up in your role in this economy, please reach out via DMs. I’d love to support your journey. 💗 #promotion #productmanagers #productmanagement #womenintech #womeninproduct

🚀 Excited to share my recent experience interviewing for a product role! The process was challenging and insightful, and I learned a lot from it. Here are some of the key questions I encountered: - Previous Company: Discussed offerings and shared a project example, highlighting challenges faced and how I managed unforeseen situations with stakeholders. - Motivation to Join: Explored reasons for joining the organization and discussed a favorite product, emphasizing personal preferences. - Revenue Growth Strategy: Presented ideas for increasing revenue if in the position of Head of Product at LinkedIn. - Product Frameworks: Discussed frameworks used in development and emphasized customer interaction for finalizing the scope. These questions delved into my product development approach and problem-solving skills. A crucial lesson learned: prioritize precision and quality in responses over quantity of information. Excited to implement these insights and enhance my strategies continuously. Grateful for every learning opportunity! 🌟 #ProductManagement #CareerGrowth #InterviewExperience #LearningJourney #ProfessionalDevelopment #linkedin #productmanager #hiring

A product manager I worked with recently shared two stories from their narrative and asked me for feedback. I told them I liked them because they did two critical things: 1. Made it crystal clear what major difficulties they had to overcome. 2. Highlighted their unique impact as a product leader. The goal of crafting your narrative is simple: ✅ Identify the stories that resonate. ✅ Double down on drawing out the obstacles and the drama ✅ Eliminate the me too stuff. It’s a straightforward process of refining your value proposition: Draft → Test → Improve → Repeat.* But here’s the challenge: **Most product managers don’t know where to start.** If you’re struggling to define your career narrative or position yourself as the obvious choice, it’s not about working harder—it’s about working smarter. Here’s how I help product managers solve this: 🎯 We define the core problem you solve for companies, aligning your impact with what hiring managers care about most. 🎯 We craft a leadership narrative that showcases your unique contributions and sets you apart from the competition. 🎯 We refine your delivery through mock interviews so you show up with confidence and clarity. Your career narrative is your hook. It’s what grabs attention, sparks curiosity, and makes decision-makers want to know more about you. If you’re ready to stand out in your next job search, let’s chat. Book a discovery call with my team to get started. Let’s make sure your story gets noticed.

Finding the right people isn’t just about filling roles—it’s about aligning visions and values. Here are six methods that have worked for me in attracting top product managers: 1. Share Your Story: Sharing the company’s journey and challenges resonates with candidates who have grit. They want to be part of something bigger. 2. Emphasize Growth Opportunities: Highlighting career advancement and continuous learning attracts driven professionals eager to grow. 3. Cultivate a Strong Culture: A collaborative and open work environment draws innovative product managers who want to make an impact. 4. Leverage Employee Testimonials: Authentic testimonials from current employees provide a real glimpse into what potential hires can expect. 5. Network Actively: Engaging in industry events and communities helps identify and build relationships with talented product managers. 6. Highlight Your Mission: Articulating the company’s mission and impact attracts visionaries who share your passion. These strategies have helped me attract product managers with determination and vision. If you’re interested in learning more, let’s connect and explore how we can align our visions for mutual growth.
