My six month review is coming up and I can't help but marvel at the incredible strides i have made and the challenges i have conquered together. Today, I want to share a personal triumph that symbolizes my commitment to excellence and the relentless pursuit of my dreams. I recently acquired a WCW Heavyweight Championship belt – a childhood dream that has always held a special place in my heart. Some might view it as a spontaneous decision, perhaps a result of a "life crisis." However, to me, it's a tangible reminder of the champion within, a source of inspiration that fuels my drive for success. In our careers, we often face hurdles, doubts, and moments of uncertainty. Yet, it's during these times that we must dig deep and find that inner champion. Life is too short not to celebrate our victories, big or small, and to embrace the joy of chasing our dreams. This championship belt represents more than just a nostalgic purchase – it symbolizes the belief that we all have the power to create our own success stories. It serves as a daily reminder to approach challenges with the mindset of a champion, to persevere when the going gets tough, and to always strive for greatness. As I enter my 6-month review, I'm fueled by the desire to continue achieving, growing, and impacting not only my career but the lives of those around me. 🏃🏾💨 A 5 mile run turned into a great lesson about the importance of community 👇🏾 If you follow professional level combat sports to a reasonable capacity, you know Lorenz Larkin 🥊 who is a current #1 contender for the Bellator welterweight belt. Ahead of his upcoming fight on September 7, he invited a few people out to the final run of his training camp and I was happy to join. The fight game is an individual sport but as soon as I arrived at the meeting point, it was clear that this was very much a team experience. These are just a few of the things I noticed. 1. People Showed up: it’s easy to forget how major a step it is to simply show up. 2. Ambitious Goals: If you run, you know that 5 miles non stop is more than the average Joe can do. More ambitious goals tend to identify those that have the heart/experience to execute and keeps others far away. 3. The intangibles matter: Although none of us could do the work ‘for’ Lorenz, there was an intangible energy created from running next to him 4. Positive Mindets: Positive communication was loud and intentional in the group. Negativity would have been quickly drowned out. 5. Reciprocate: After the run was completed, Lorenz treated everyone to Açaí bowls in an immediate display of appreciation. I can’t help but to think about my team in helping my 8 year old vision become a reality. They are the ones that show up with positive minds and give me strength simply by working beside me. My Competition Journey... Me 'n Bert did a thinggggg at the weekend and took another step forward in our Competitive Obedience Journey...winning our first Test B. We were 3.5 marks clear of the rest of the field.. I'm beyond proud of this young boy. Judges Report: 1st Angela Watson with Hanans Golden Liberty@ Wygulmut (Berty). Golden Retriever. HW 4 ¼, Sendaway ½, Retrieve ½, Scent C, Total 5 ¼. "Beautiful Berty displayed breathtaking heelwork, no mean feat for mum Angela to achieve as he is such a crazy kid at still only 3 years old. He then had us holding our breath when it came to scent, since the last time we judged this team they led throughout the day only for Bouncing Berty to play the fool in the cloth department. This was the first B win for team A/B - there is no doubt that before the year is over they will be A/B in C. Fantastic job and so pleased for you!" The journey so far... 2020 Berty was born 2022 Started competing in April. Won 2 x Novice and 1 x Test A 2023 Won 3 x Test A and qualified for BCOS Grand Prix Final. Did Obedience Display at Crufts 2023. 2024 Won x 1 Test B... Next steps of the journey... 1 more B win 1 x 1st, 1 x 2nd, 1 x 3rd in Test C This will put us in the top Championship C class where we can then compete for a place at Crufts.
