It's Mental Health Awareness Week! Our 2024 funding is now open for applications. We are funding community projects in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly supporting women’s mental health. For this round of funding projects with a focus on perinatal mental health will be given preferential consideration. You do not have to be a registered charity to apply. Grants will range from £500 to a maximum of £1,000 and you must be a not-for-profit organisation or group working with women in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly. Cornwall Women’s Fund can only do more, if you give more - it’s as bold as that. We need your regular donations, whether that’s £5 a week or £10 a month, or a sum you can afford annually, or maybe the proceeds of a fundraising event you’ve held with CWF as a beneficiary. Very recently, someone approached Tough to Talk and commented on how much they would like to support us, as they had been affected by suicide and they love what we do. They didn’t have the time or skills we needed to help with the charity's work. It wasn’t their fault - it’s just life. So they were then asked, “Could you spare £5 a month?” He paused for a moment and said, “Yes.” Later that day, a notification was received. He had set up a £5 monthly donation and sent a message saying, “I can’t give you my time or expertise, but I can spare £5. Keep up the great work.” A small gesture … but what I f everyone who wanted to help, but couldn’t volunteer or contribute expertise, gave just £5 a month, we could change so many lives. We could reach more men in crisis, stepping in before they hit rock bottom. Your £5 might feel small, but to the men we save, it’s everything.
