So many brilliant energy, fleet, and transport events in the coming months ahead and another event that I am excited to be attending and speaking at is Optimal Charging: Public Charging 2024 on October 16!   Local authorities can break barriers through strategic planning, collaboration, and public engagement, with local governments playing a pivotal role in accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles and contributing to a healthier, greener, and sustainable future for their residents and stakeholders. RII recently participated in the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) conference held in Kansas City, Missouri. The event proved to be an exceptional experience, fostering connections and showcasing the collaborative spirit of the railroad industry. The conference boasted an impressive turnout, with over 1,700 attendees and 200+ exhibitors. This vast #network provided a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration. RII representatives actively engaged in information sessions, gaining valuable insights into the latest industry trends and best practices. One of the key takeaways from the conference was the profound sense of community within the railroad industry. Although often perceived as one of the smallest niches, it has countless sectors within which encompasses a diverse range of specialties. Events like ASLRRA serve as a vital space where these diverse groups can converge and drive innovation in an ever-changing world. Herwart Wilms will be FEAD’s next President ✔️🇪🇺 Today, FEAD - European Waste Management Association has elected its future president: Herwart Wilms will take over the presidency of the association on 1 January 2026. He was appointed at the General Assembly in Brussels, succeeding the Italian Claudia Mensi, with whom he has already been working closely as FEAD’s Vice-President. Herwart Wilms will continue this work during his presidency with strong commitment. 💬 “The fact that more and more parts of our national business are dependent on legal requirements that are conceived, made and adopted in Brussels has motivated me to pay more and more attention to them – both at my home asssociation BDE Bundesverband der Deutschen Entsorgungs-, Wasser- und Kreislaufwirtschaft e. V. in Germany and, for several years, in our FEAD", says Herwart Wilms.
