At AMM-TAQA, we firmly believe that one of the most rigorous platforms to prove the capabilities of new technologies is through motorsport. Among the multitude of challenging races, the Dakar Rally stands as one of the toughest and most demanding tests for any vehicle. Spanning thousands of kilometers across inhospitable terrains, from deserts to rocky landscapes, the Dakar Rally pushes vehicles and their technology to their absolute limits, both in terms of endurance and performance. In alignment with our mission to demonstrate the viability of ammonia as a sustainable fuel source, AMM-TAQA intends to develop a Dakar Rally car powered by a V6 ammonia internal combustion (IC) engine hybrid system. The choice of the Dakar is not arbitrary. It offers the ideal proving ground for our ammonia IC engine technology by subjecting it to real-world challenges, far beyond controlled laboratory environments. The combination of the ammonia engine with a hybrid system ensures that not only are we working towards a carbon-neutral solution but also that we are advancing efficiency and powertrain adaptability in extreme conditions. The decision to develop a Dakar Rally car is rooted in our confidence in ammonia’s potential as a future fuel for motorsports and broader applications. By competing in this high-profile and extreme event, we aim to demonstrate that ammonia-powered vehicles can be just as reliable, high-performing, and safe as traditional fuels. Our ambition is not just to finish the race but to do so with a vehicle that symbolizes the future of sustainable transport. Successfully completing the Dakar Rally will act as a powerful validation of ammonia IC engine technology's reliability, durability, and safety. It will serve as a bold statement that ammonia-powered engines can excel in the most unforgiving environments. This achievement would mark a critical milestone in the journey toward zero-emission mobility, and AMM-TAQA would stand at the forefront of this revolution. Through this endeavor, we aim to show the world that ammonia-powered engines are not only feasible but capable of transforming the landscape of motorsport and Electricity power generation. At this year's Dakar Rally, our HySE-X1 prototype, equipped with an innovative hydrogen engine, not only reached the finish line, but also achieved an outstanding fourth place in the prestigious Dakar Future Mission 1000 event. For us as a team, this was not only a confirmation of the reliability of our technology, but also a valuable lesson that raises questions about the future of sustainable motoring. Every kilometre of the Dakar Rally is a test of endurance not only for the machine, but also for the people behind it. We tested the HySE-X1 in extreme conditions, from low temperatures to extreme heat, from sea level to altitudes of 1,200 metres. These experiences have given us a deep understanding and adaptation of the technology, which is key to the commercialisation of internal combustion hydrogen engines for smaller vehicles. Innovation does not happen in a vacuum. Collaborating with Kawasaki, Suzuki, Honda and Yamaha as part of the HySE consortium is proof that working together towards the goal of developing climate-neutral transport technologies can yield concrete and measurable results. We found this out by driving the HySE-X1 through the challenging terrain of the Dakar, which further motivates our team to continue working and innovating. This Dakar Rally was more than just a race for Toyota. It was a vision of the future of motoring, where sustainability meets technological boldness. It's a message we want to carry forward, inspiring not only engineers and technicians, but everyone who believes in the possibility of positive change. #Toyota #HydrogenTechnology #SustainableMotorsport #DakarRally

Bonk motorsport fights for victory with renewable fuels from FEV For the 52nd edition of the iconic #24-hours race at the #Nürburgring last weekend, #FEV supplied successful team Bonk Motorsport with renewable ‘eFuel Racing 98’ produced by #DeCarTrans – a project being coordinated by FEV and funded by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMDV). The project’s goal is to further develop an innovative process to produce synthetic gasoline from methanol, which is produced from biogenic or #regenerative sources. After leading the class for cars powered by alternative fuels, the Bonk #BMW M4 GT4 with start number 888 finally achieved an excellent 2nd place in class. Due to the race being red flagged after a mere seven hours because of foggy conditions and poor visibility on track, team Bonk Motorsport was deprived of the opportunity to reclaim first place. At the time of the race being abandoned, the BMW M4 had only been a few seconds behind the temporary leader. However, the BMW’s fastest lap time in class had already demonstrated its winning potential. The race result reinforces the findings of the test bench investigations carried out by project partners FEV, Bertrandt and Bonk Motorsport in the run-up to the race: Renewable fuels are on a par with their conventional predecessors in terms of performance, while emitting significantly less PN and PM than conventional fuels. The use of the renewable ‘eFuel Racing 98’ enabled a #CO2-neutral participation at the 24hrs Nürburgring, as during the production of renewable fuels, the same amount of CO2 is extracted from the atmosphere as the vehicle emits during operation. #24hrace #fev #bonk #feelevolution #racing #nürburgring #bertrandt #decartrans
