The Power of Gifts in Community Building Inspired by Peter Block's "Six Conversations", the Gifts Conversation is a powerful reminder to shift our focus from deficiencies to contributions. At TPAS, we carry this philosophy into the work we do with alumni and the communities we build. Today, we ask you: What is the positive feedback you receive that still surprises you? Take a moment to reflect on the unique gifts you bring to the table. By sharing and acknowledging these gifts, we strengthen our recovery communities together. What are the Educational, Health, or Economic benefits to the Players and their Families for his participation in any additional “NON-SCHOLARSHIP” private third-party postseason football games that pay the Universities and the Conferences for the use of their free labor to put on these highly profitable Bowl events. These additional 1-5 POSTSEASON games are also over the Players’ 12 game athletic scholarship agreement? The answer is ZERO! Our Proposal offers Major Benefits in all three Categories to the Players and their Families! The roughly 7,800 Bowl eligible Scholarship Football Players are owed Hundreds of Millions of dollars from this year’s Media contract that uses the Players’ Name, Image, and Likeness NIL without any equitable financial consideration to the Players or their Families! This lost Money could have a major impact on these Players lives, the lives of their current and future family members for generations? We do not support, or agree with the House vs NCAA Settlement or the current covert attempts to extend and expand this current Antitrust Cartel exploiting our young mostly minority FB &BB labor that the US Supreme Court and Federal District Court have recently struck down as illegal and implausible.

🚨 Nonprofit leaders: Have a board experience or governance question you'd love advice on—but don’t want to share it publicly? You're not alone. Nonprofit governance can be messy, and the challenges often happen behind closed doors. Staff and board members facing tricky dynamics, unclear roles, or unexpected issues are often left struggling in silence. This is why I created the #NonprofitBoardStories newsletter. It's a space to share the reality of nonprofit board experiences anonymously. 💬 Here’s how it works: ✔️ Submit your story or question anonymously. ✔️ We’ll share your submission with some helpful advice (no names, no identifiers). ✔️ Together, we’ll spark real conversations to improve nonprofit governance sector-wide. 👉 Submit your story here: https://shorturl.at/Bgby6 Please share widely! Let’s break the silence and drive the change nonprofit boards need. #NonprofitLeadership #BoardGovernance #NonprofitBoards

🙋♀️ Five Things I Learnt at NPC (New Philanthropy Capital) Ignites as a First Time Chair 🙋♀️ 1. Just because you see your colleagues with a massive pack of ‘chair notes’ doesn’t mean you also need a massive pack of chair notes, it just means they're phenomenally prepared people (Naomi Chapman and Alex Hayes, looking at you!) 2. Next time, remember to introduce yourself, as well as the panel speakers... 3. If you want decent photos of yourself chairing for a LinkedIn post down the line, it helps to stand up and therefore be visible in said photo (see below) 4. It would be worth considering regular sponsorship of the RSPB, just to get the Owls (tech speakers) onside… 🦉 5. Prepping questions is a useful thing to do, just in case, but in all likelihood your speakers will be so wonderful and the audience so interested, you genuinely won’t have to add anything to the discussion In all seriousness, it was fantastic to be a part of such a well attended and well received breakout room, focused on 'How Should Funders Evaluate and Learn?' NPC's Claire Gordon began, introducing an upcoming framework from NPC on balancing MEL needs with being a trusting funder, which is being launched later this year. Asimina Vergou then followed with a presentation connected to one element of the framework, 'Sharing the Power' and discussed the Co-op Foundation's experience of engaging and sharing power with young people in measuring the impact of their funding. Kirsty Gillan-Thomas from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation rounded off the session with a presentation on 'Turning the Lens', describing how internal and external evidence can be used in funders evaluations. Finally, a thank you to all those in the room for your insightful questions and engagement throughout. Keep an eye on your inboxes for a link to NPC's upcoming Framework once it's launched. If you forgot to scan the QR code and sign up, comment below and I will add you to the list! #funders #NPCIgnites #MEL #evaluation

Henry Mintzberg has coined the interesting term "progressive populism" for a pan-sectoral concept that I think inspires the Open Credentials Network (OCN), as currently drafted primarily by Serge Ravet, due to be launched at ePIC 2024 #openepic Mintzberg's "Discovering Progressive Populism": https://lnkd.in/eqZ_9EZe "...consider our most basic needs: for consumption, protection, and affiliation. Each is mostly served by a different sector of society. Just as private sector businesses provide most of our goods and services, so too do public sector governments provide many of our protections—for policing, of course, but also with regulations that hold powerful private interests in check....Beyond these two needs lies the third, just as basic, yet often overlooked: our need for affiliation, through our social relationships. This is provided, not by private businesses or public governments, but significantly by the associations we create and join in our communities." Compare the 3 above to the 4 below.. (education is the 4th), and ratchet the focus down from planetary challenges to skills recognition and credentials. Mintzberg: "public/private/plural partnerships, or PPPPs" OCN: "(sectoral) colleges and levels of society" The plural part is interesting...ie plural within plural Ravet's OCN: https://lnkd.in/e8CRn5s5 "What makes OCN special is the understanding that the future of digital credentials rests on the mobilisation of all stakeholders. For convenience an visibiity we have organised them in four colleges: Civil Society: Charities, non-profits, associations, advocacy groups and social enterprises that champion innovative approaches to workforce development and social inclusion. Education & Training: Education and training providers, awarding bodies and accreditation agencies, that develop, assess and accredit individuals and organisations. Employment & Business: Enterprises, industry associations, sector skills councils and chambers of commerce, seeking to identify, attract and retain qualified talent. Public Sector: public authorities (local, regional and national) and agencies developing and implementing policies in education, training, workforce development and social inclusion. #digitalcredentials #openbadges #digitalbadges #openrecognition #lifelonglearning #lifewidelearning

Hey, did you see this Applixure interview with Service Desk and End User Computing Manager Henry Allen just before the holidays? It’s a great success story to read on how to enhance IT operations without significant financial investment! Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL) encountered typical IT issues: outdated infrastructure, limited visibility to computers and software, and overburdened IT support. By teaming up with Applixure, they achieved significant cost savings, boosted IT efficiency, and improved IT staff satisfaction. “Now, the staff are happier because they no longer have to deal with constant IT problems.” Check out how Salvation Army Trading Company transformed their IT efficiency: https://lnkd.in/dpfrUNhd
