The lightbulb moment that comes with walking up a mountain…twice! Last week I posted about my walk-up Table Mountain – my first time in a long time- and how it unfolded. This week I had to walk up again. And this is what happened. I walked up in less time, I took fewer breaks, and I wasn’t as tired when I reached the top. So, why is that? My body is stronger, I knew the route, I knew what to expect, I had a lighter bag with less stuff. But most importantly, I had gained experience from my first hike up that contributed to smoother and more confident hike the second time around. Very seldom is the first time the best! Quite often we miss the target. Yet, if we persist, learn, and apply the lessons, slowly but surely, we get closer to the mark by finding our way. This photograph is the view I witnessed when I reached the top – breathing easier than the first time so I could actually enjoy it😊 #createfulness #personalgrowth #leadershipdevelopment #professionaldevelopment #photofriday #commitment

💡 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥! 🌟 Life has a way of throwing us curveballs when we least expect them. Recently, I found myself in a situation where my flight was canceled, and I was rebooked on another. But somewhere along the line, someone forgot to inform the ground crew, and my suitcase decided to stay back in Paris while I continued onward. 🧳✈️ My first thoughts? 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑎𝑚 𝐼 𝑔𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑤𝑒𝑎𝑟? 𝐼 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑚𝑒𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠, 𝑖𝑡’𝑠 𝑐𝑜𝑙𝑑, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑚𝑦 𝑏𝑎𝑔 𝑖𝑠… 𝑖𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑦. 😬 But as my taxi pulled up to the hotel, I saw it—the big, red, glowing sign that reminded me of something so important: the proverbial 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒍. Sometimes, we’re so focused on the problem that we forget to look for the #solution . And more often than not, it’s right there, waiting for us. Here are 5 reasons to never give up, personally or professionally, and always look for that light: 1️⃣ Challenges build #resilience – Every setback is a setup for a stronger comeback. 💪 2️⃣ #Solutions are often closer than we think – Just like airplane safety instructions, the "exit" or solution might be behind you, not ahead. ✨ 3️⃣ Problems are temporary – The light always outlasts the darkness. 🔦 4️⃣ Adversity sparks creativity – You’ll find unexpected ways to #overcome obstacles. 🎨 5️⃣ Every detour teaches a lesson – Even in chaos, there’s always something to learn. 📖 So today, I encourage you: Look up, focus on the light. Whether it’s a career obstacle, a personal challenge, or even a missing suitcase, know that there’s always a way forward. And remember, the light at the end of your tunnel may not always be white and beckoning—just like it was for me, it could be the bright red lights of TJ Maxx & HomeGoods store, ready to #solve my wardrobe crisis until my suitcase caught up with me. 🎯🛍️😉 #MotivationalMonday #Resilience #ProblemSolving #KeepGoing #MondayMotivation

Let's say you've got a big presentation coming up and you feel stressed. Why not take a one-minute time out for a mini-mind vacation? Picture this: You're on a beach, not a care in the world, just you and the soothing sound of waves syncing up with your breath. 🌊 Inhale... and the tide comes in, bringing with it a sense of calm. 🌊 Exhale... and the tide rolls out, taking your jitters with it. Channel your inner beach bum. Ride the wave of relaxation. Chill your vibes so you can be more fully present for your presentation. Take a breather. You've got this. #YouKnowWhoYouAre #PublicSpeaking #RelaxationTechniques #Presentations

What are your COMFORT go-tos? For me, when I can feel like I'm crashing...I get into my pjs, comfy socks and burrow in my soft throw, with a book - or go to sleep. That's it. And that resets my mind, my body and my heart rate. Confession: I have had to do this a lot in the last week or so, because I did too much and burnt the candle too much and now, this week, I'm still in a bit of recovery mode. Now - "too much" is subjective, I realise. We are all living in completely different boats, on the same (some times choppy) sea. Some boats are bigger, sturdier and painted beautifully with a suitable name like: Princess Moana (or something), or Big Rock. (I imagine that would the name of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's boat). Other boats are more like the late Steve Jobs' Yacht (only mentioning it because I actually got to SEE this one moored in San Diego many moons ago). And then there are the many many boats that vary between tiny row boats, rubber dinghies or....on some days...I'll be honest, I feel like I'm on a plastic inflatable flamingo lilo...floating precariously in open seas. (Picture: Shark fins circling me, with wide eyes, clinging tightly with both hands...screaming internally like you do when you scream in a nightmare...quiet and strangled.) I think I've been swinging between the flamingo lilo and the rubber dingy level, but I'm hoping to upgrade to the rowing boat by the time I hit Friday. Where are you in the scale of floating mechanism (boat) at the moment? Please don't say I'm the only one with wide eyes, clinging on with all my might? #personalstories #21daysbcp For my business friends: #businessroom #yatm #yourbusinessmatters #personalbrandstrategist #subjectmatterexperts
