What does it mean to be a star?    What an incredible honour it was to celebrate our quarterly Discovery Limited Star Awards winners recently! Four times a year, we come together to recognise exceptional employees who embody Discovery’s core purpose and values in everything they do. Our Discovery Star Awards highlight individuals whose outstanding performance consistently shines through. More importantly this award anchors on peer recognition as each winner was nominated by a colleague, which makes this award even more special in my view.   I had the privilege of hosting the Q3 Star Awards for Discovery Health. We celebrated 34 remarkable team members from our 5,500-strong workforce, each nominated for their unwavering dedication and passion. At the awards, we asked the winners to reflect on "what makes them a star, and what led them to getting this award?” Listening to their responses made a deep impression on me. At the end of the day I was left thinking about the traits common to all of the award winners. Five powerful traits stand out – traits which I think are reliable predictors of excellence. CHANGE THE GAME, DON’T LET THE GAME CHANGE YOU. As I reflect on the past three years from DSM performer and being hailed as RSM of the Year for two consecutive years, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude. The journey has been marked by incredible achievements, steadfast dedication, and unwavering teamwork. Indeed, our collective efforts ultimately turned ambitious goals into tangible successes. This success isn't only mine. And so, my never ending gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this feat. Your hard work, passion, and commitment have been the driving force behind OUR success. Together, we have overcome challenges, seized opportunities, and set new benchmarks of excellence. We have built a legacy of resilience and innovation. They say time goes by in the blink of an eye – and the past decade certainly has! Today marks my 10-year anniversary at Bausch + Lomb and I couldn’t be more grateful for the lessons learned, moments shared and the amazing team of people (too many to tag) I get to work with every single day. Looking back, here 10 of the top things I’ve learned:  🏢 Transitioning from clinical care to industry was a rewarding challenge. While my experience in the military helped me adjust, the journey was far more complex – but it was beyond worth every step.   🫶Take advantage of opportunities to give back. I've had the pleasure of supporting locally and nationally, both for my own team and also for organizations like Community Hope, TerraCycle, Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, and others. One of the greatest things we can do is use our resources to help those in need.  💬 Feedback fuels progress. Giving and receiving even the smallest pieces of feedback add up into something much bigger, helping us be 1% better every day ✨ The potential to impact patients extends far beyond what we see. Being part of something bigger in a business-focused role has shown me the importance of our work and why it matters so much.  🤝 Mentorship is a two-way street. You’re never too experienced to learn from others – or too early in your career to share what you’ve learned.   💖 Make time for things that matter most. Improving eye care is important. So is being there for loved ones. No matter how busy life gets, always remember to put people first. 👩💼Never underestimate the power of a great coworker. I am lucky to have too many to count, but my partner-in-crime, Leslie Silva has had a tremendous impact on me and the work our team is doing across North America.   🥳 Celebrate every win. Work is a lot better when you have fun together and appreciate the journey along the way.  🌱 Growth happens when you push yourself beyond your comfort zone. The path isn’t straightforward and you have to rise to new challenges each day. From product development to marketing and so much more, each challenge has taught me something new.  ➡️ When you think you’ve done all that you can, do a little more. The extra effort can make all the difference in the lives of patients and the doctors who count on us.   While I can’t see the future, I do know that it will be just as bright, adventuresome, and inspiring as the past decade with B+L. A Cat that dreams of becoming a Lion must lose its appetite for rats; What this simply means is that; in order for one to achieve greatness, one has to let go of the old habits that could hold back their progress. Got tired of staying in my zone, overstaying my welcome and decided that I needed a challenge, a mental-challenge, career-challenge, skill-wise challenge, and the need to step up. And so I joined CCI Global, 3 years down the line, we are where we never thought we'd be now. That's for sure those were nothing but fears that hindered me from achieving and flying high to the heights that I thought were higher for me. So to this year, we are ready for even bigger challenges.  #QualityAssurance
