Fires today develop over six times faster than those in the 1950s, primarily due to the expanded usage of highly combustible synthetic construction and furnishing materials. Fire extinguishers and fire extinguisher training play a pivotal role in mitigating these risks. Portable fire extinguishers, in particular, can effectively suppress small fires or confine them until the arrival of the fire department, thereby safeguarding lives and property. Just ask Chevy and participants in today's training sessions to underscore the significance of this proactive approach.

In 27 years of global scaffold/access training, I've visited 1,500+ industrial sites, encountering just as many safety orientations. Surprisingly, most left much to be desired. Why invest in lackluster content for such a crucial first impression of your organization's safety culture? Some recent experiences highlight the importance of quality safety training: - A 7-hour online presentation so generic it could apply anywhere. - Review "tests" that a 10-year-old could ace without the orientation. - Technical information so obscure only a handful of people on-site would find it relevant. - Online programs riddled with issues like broken links, coding errors, and script glitches. - A scattergun approach to training, hoping something will resonate with the trainee. Why settle for subpar safety training when it's the face of your organization's commitment to safety? Let's prioritize impactful and relevant safety orientations that truly engage and educate. What are your thoughts on the importance of robust safety training and its impact on #SafetyCulture and #FirstImpressions

Training = Safety We all know that part of safety is training. Those training classes come in a variety of forms. Some are complex with large crowds, media equipment, catered meals, function halls, well, you know what we are talking about. Other trainings are more simple, more personable, a more relaxed environment some may say. These would be called site specific orientation. They are very specific to a project and they allow much more communication to take place as they cover a variety of topics. Taking the time to train at a project level allows you to be fully engaged in those site hazards. #ChallengeAccepted

This is a great training course on heavy equipment and machinery safety. Continuous learning and staying up-to-date on best practices are key to preventing accidents in this high-risk environment. This 4-hour course is a great way to keep your skills sharp and reinforce essential safety protocols. For anyone in the industry, taking such courses regularly can make a big difference in overall safety. It’s not just about knowing how to operate the machinery, but also about understanding the risks, following safety protocols, and being prepared for emergencies. Encouraging others to participate in similar training is an excellent way to promote a culture of safety and prevent accidents before they happen. Stay safe out there! #training #safety #self development
