𝚂𝚃𝙾𝚁𝚈 𝙾𝙵 𝙼𝚁. 𝙰𝙹𝙰𝙶𝙰𝙱𝙳𝙸 (𝙷𝙸𝚂 𝚁𝙴𝙶𝚁𝙴𝚃𝚂 𝙰𝙽𝙳 𝚄𝙽𝙴𝚇𝙿𝙴𝙲𝚃𝙴𝙳 𝙶𝙰𝙸𝙽 𝙸𝙽 𝚁𝙴𝙰𝙻 𝙴𝚂𝚃𝙰𝚃𝙴) One day, I went to meet with my old client, Mr. Ajagbadi, to offer him a property. During our conversation, he started sharing his own real estate experience with me. He told me that back in 1997, he was offered some land in an estate around Iekki Phase 1. However, he didn't want to live in that area himself. Instead, he wanted to move his mom from south south to Lagos. Mr Ajagbadi ended up buying three plots of land and built a house on one of them for his mom. After some years, sadly, his mom passed away. Whenever Mr. Ajagbadi comes to Nigeria now, that house is the only place he stays, because he has already relocated to the USA But here's the interesting part: he sold the other plots of land for over 100 million naira! a land he bought at a very low price but he regrets now he did not buy more than just those three plots. The meeting with Mr. Ajagbadi was an easy one, and we closed some deals together. My simple advice is that anywhere they show you land as far as you can do your due diligence and you can see that the land is free from government acquisition and other encumbrances, and the land is strategically located to great development that will enhance the land appreciation in the future, please buy and you will never regret it if you follow my simple advice. Continuation. Land vs house: which is the best investment in Nigeria To mitigate the stress of securing land, consider buying from a reputable real estate company. A trusted realtor can ensure your land is safe and help you through the investment process. For instance, Ms. Ayo Davidgold is a renowned real estate agent who can help you secure your investment and achieve a quick return on investment (ROI). The value of a good realtor and a reliable real estate company cannot be overstated in the industry. **So, which is the better investment: buying land or building a house?** It depends. If you can build a house in a high-income area where tenants pay rent reliably, then a house is a good investment. In low-income areas, however, investing in land is often a safer bet, guaranteeing a return on investment. Take action now! Earlier this month I had a conversation with a UK-based Nigerian who had made some real estate investments in Nigeria. This person bought an off-plan property via an agent and after hand over he realised that some key infrastructure expected were not provided. He incurred an additional 15% of the purchase price to fix the infrastructure. This is one of the biggest discouraging factors to real estate investments for Nigerian in diaspora - the absence of trust. Agents, developers and even family members are often too concerned about what they get that they either omit key information necessary in the decision making process or they are outrightly deceptive. The solution to this problem is to work with experienced and verified realtors who understand the process and are willing to walk that journey with you. If you or someone you know is interested in Nigerian real estate but wants to ensure a smooth experience, reach out to us BuyLetLive for a consultation. Let's help you make a smart and successful investment! #RealEstateInvestment #BuyLetLive #PropertyInNigeria

You know, I used to think investing in real estate was something only “big people” did. I’d see those luxury estates and think, “This isn’t for me oo.” But the funny thing is, real estate isn’t as out of reach as it seems. Take Ibadan, for instance. Have you noticed how quickly areas like Moniya and Akobo are transforming? What used to be quiet spaces are now bustling with life, new estates, and businesses. Imagine if you had bought a piece of land there five years ago. By now, you’d probably be smiling to the bank. Here’s the thing: Real estate is one of those investments that might not give you immediate returns, but over time? Pure gold. Even renting out a simple one-bedroom apartment can become a steady income stream. And let’s not even talk about land disputes in Nigeria. We all know someone who bought a plot of land, only to discover it was sold to five other people. That’s why verifying land documents is non-negotiable. If you don’t know where to start, look for platforms like Havens they make the process straightforward and stress-free. So, whether you’re buying your first plot of land, planning to build a house, or just thinking about where to invest next, don’t sleep on real estate.
