📺 The Bear has quickly become one of my all-time favorite shows. I hung this poster in my office because the "Forks" episode is a transformative moment about purpose. If you haven’t seen it, stop reading now... go watch it. There are too many lessons and illustrations in one episode to mention, but here are a few that resonate with me as a leader in a startup: 🔹 Polish the forks: The little things matter. 🔹 Skin the mushrooms: Even the person in charge gets their hands dirty. 🔹 Give it a try: Be curious and brave enough to learn how to do something new. 🔹 Every day is the Super Bowl: Take pride in what you get to do. 🔹 Surprise at table 12: Find ways to go above and beyond for your people and customers. Make it personal. Make it memorable. I go through seasons where I feel like Cousin Richie before his transformative moment. Purpose can come and go quickly. When you're in the trenches, you need to come up for air and gain perspective to see clearly again. For Richie, delivering a memorable moment to someone else helped him see why his work matters.
