3 golden rules for head-gear safety I highly recommend👇🏼 A safety helmet isn’t a hat. I don’t see people talking about choosing the right head gear and trust me 9/10 times, wearing the right headgear could have easily reduced the impact of an accident. At Border, we recommend you follow these before choosing a head gear for your workers: 📌Pick the right helmet →When it comes to headgear, I recommend looking out for the two industry standards before use: Get yourself industrial safety helmets with key characteristics (shock absorption, penetration/flame resistance etc), that protect you against falling objects and low voltage live electrical installations up to 1,000V A.C. 📌Regular maintenance and inspection →Even the best headgear requires regular checks and maintenance. Inspect your helmet regularly for any signs of wear and tear, cracks, or damage. Replace if found, immediately. 📌Look for additional features & the right fit →Modern helmets come with additional features like built-in visors, ear protection, and compatibility with communication devices. Consider these features based on your specific work environment and requirements. Plus, a helmet is only effective if it fits properly. Make sure it is comfortable to wear without being too tight or too loose. It’s high time we spoke of safety and safety measures. Let’s initiate a conversation in the comments below 👇🏻 #bordersafetywears #safety #protection #headgear

Remember, the effectiveness of PFPE gear is not just in its compliance with inspection schedules but also in the wearer's diligence to ensure it's in optimal condition and properly fitted every single time it's worn. Here are three points to remember before stepping into your Harness. ❗ 1️⃣Visual Inspection: Before wearing any PFPE gear, conduct a thorough visual inspection. Look for any signs of wear, tear, or damage. This includes checking for frayed edges, cuts, or abrasions on webbing, any deformity or cracks in metal components like D-rings or buckles, and ensuring that all connectors function correctly. Even small damages can significantly compromise the gear's integrity and safety. 2️⃣Proper Fit and Adjustment: Ensure that the gear fits properly. An incorrectly fitted harness can be uncomfortable and, more importantly, ineffective in arresting a fall. Adjust all straps according to your size, and make sure there are no loose ends or excessively tight areas that could restrict movement or blood circulation. The right fit ensures that the gear will function as intended in case of a fall. 3️⃣Functionality Check: Test the functionality of every part of the gear. This includes checking that any locking mechanisms (like buckles or connectors) are fully functional and that any adjustable components are secure and hold well under stress. For retractable systems or lanyards, a quick function check to ensure smooth retraction and locking is crucial. #pfpegearcheck #safetyassessment #gearupright #selfcheckprotocol #pfpeprecautions #safeequipmentuse #pfpebestpractices #personalsafetyfirst #equipmentselfassessment #reliablesafetygear

The effectiveness of personal fall protection equipment (PFPE) goes beyond simply adhering to inspection schedules. Three key points to consider before putting on your harness ✔ Visual Examination: Before you wear any PFPE gear, carefully check it for signs of wear, tears, or damage. ✔ Get The Right Fit: An improperly fitted harness can cause discomfort and, more critically, may fail to prevent a fall. ✔ Functionality: Check that any clips or buckles close and open smoothly, and make sure any parts that can be adjusted stay in place when you pull on them. #PFPE #safety #selfcheckprotocol #pfpeprecautions #safetyequipmentuse #pfpebestpractices #personalsafetyfirst #equipmentselfassessment

Crucial tips to ensure safe and efficient Pallet Jack operation: 1️⃣ Inspect before you act! Test the hydraulic lift and inspect wheels and forks for any signs of damage. 2️⃣ Gear up for safety! Don't forget your PPE –gloves, eye protection, etc. 3️⃣ Know your limits! Check the weight of your load and ensure it's within the pallet jack's limits. 4️⃣ Balance is key! Center the load and fully insert the forks into the pallet for balanced weight distribution. 5️⃣ Push, don't pull! Whenever possible, push the load for better visibility and to protect your back. If pulling is unavoidable, proceed with caution. See more tips in our blog! https://lnkd.in/ez27VRDu #PalletJackSafety #SafetyFirst #WarehouseSafety
