Curious about what went on in May? I had the privilege of attending the recent #TalentTechAsiaSummit in Singapore 🇸🇬! HR leaders from various industries came together to share insights and discuss critical HR topics like talent retention, future-ready talent pools, and skills-based hiring. Here are some 🔑 key takeaways that left me with plenty of food for thought: 1️⃣ Skills over Jobs: Focus on developing skills relevant for both current and future roles, rather than specific job titles. 2️⃣ Business-focused HR: Align HR strategies closely with business goals to ensure effectiveness. 3️⃣ Organisational Evolution: Adapt company structures to meet changing workforce dynamics. 4️⃣ Importance of Skills: Recognize skills as the new currency in the world of work. 5️⃣ Skills Lifecycle: Make skills development a continuous process from workforce planning to separation. In summary, there's an urgency to align talent strategies with today's evolving realities. This means reassessing organizational structures, identifying current and future talent needs, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. In the meanwhile, there’s an importance of driving engagement and retention through personalized career pathways. It's also clear that future-ready talent pools and innovative HR strategies are the way forward. 🌟 While the summit is now over, it also kept me reflecting on what we have in our organization and how we are leveraging them to partner with the business effectively! #HR #TalentManagement #FutureOfWork #SkillsDevelopment

Reflections from the Zamara Regional HR Summit Last week, I had the privilege of attending the Zamara Regional HR Summit, themed 'Afrocentricity: Curating Solutions for Talent & Workplaces in Africa.' Man, our brains were toasted after two intense days of insights and discussions! Here are my key insights: ↗ The power of Listening: "Leaders who don't listen will eventually be surrounded by people who have nothing to say." This is to remind us that the art of listening is at the heart of leadership. ↗ Organizational Ambidexterity: The ability for organizations to balance and excel in two critical areas - exploiting existing capabilities while exploring future opportunities. For us to remain relevant in the rapidly evolving world, we must strike a balance between these two. ↗ Leveraging AI in the workforce: AI won’t replace your job, but people who embrace AI will! It’s time to think about how AI can complement human skills and make our workplaces more efficient and innovative. ↗ War for Talent 2.0: Today’s workforce prioritizes emotion over results. People now value how they feel at work as much as the outcomes they achieve. Get this right if you want to build high-performance teams in this new era of work. This summit underscored how crucial it is for HR professionals to continuously adapt, listen, and leverage emerging trends that underpin the creation of inclusive, forward-thinking workplaces, nurturing both talent and growth. #HRLeadership #AIInTheWorkplace #WarForTalent #ZamaraSummit #OrganizationalAmbidexterity #FutureOfWork
