Art can often play a positive role in peacebuilding and has been integrated into many peacebuilding, deradicalization, rehabilitation, and preventing violent extremism programs. States, civil society, and practitioners look to integrate art into peacebuilding efforts because art programs have a host of individual level and social level benefits. Here are a few ways art can be used to impact people at the individual level:

My insights emphasize the importance of recognizing the interplay between historical grievances, power dynamics, and the rights of oppressed populations in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Addressing these complexities is essential for fostering genuine dialogue and exploring pathways toward a just resolution. The insistence on justice and the acknowledgment of historical wrongs are not merely obstacles but necessary components for achieving a lasting peace that respects the rights and dignity of all parties involved.

We do not resolve war with another act of war. This is true regardless of whether we war through words, weapons or legal structures. Acts of war or fighting are only a perpetuation and amplification of more war or fighting. On the other hand, disagreements or conflicts are actually beneficial. The exchange of views - when supported and allowed - allows one to appreciate that his or her perspective, while valid, is but a perspective. It creates an opening for solutions, improved relationships and even healing. But how do you differentiate between a disagreement or conflict, on the one hand, and an act of war or fighting, on the other hand? The differentiator is the energy and intention that underly them. Is your motivating feeling or intention to achieve resolution through the exchange of perspectives with a sense of commonality, respect, oneness, abundance or opportunity? Or, are you trying to make another wrong, claim superiority and/or align to fear, scarcity, righteousness or victimhood? If you can identify your underlying energy and intention then you can transmute it to something more beneficial. Our motivating energy and intentions are within our purview. They are infectious and powerful. And they are what counts when seeking to resolve conflict and effectuate positive change for ourselves, organizations, communities and the world. #conflictresolution #adr #mediation #humanevolution #peacebuilding

“We are a world in crisis because we have not improved our wounded faulty thinking. Because we as a collective have not healed and have not effectively battled the ‘evil’ component of humanity and society who we continue to birth, promote, be exploited by, vote for in key decision-making positions, and allow to promulgate.” This article attempts to answer simply the following complex questions: Why are narcissism and terrorism so prevalent in society: Why hasn’t anything been done about them; and What can we do about them? Let’s look closer at the answers. https://lnkd.in/gnUaiH4

The value of justice is an integral part of peace. When any section of society, whether the powerful or the less powerful, the minority or the majority in communities, feels that their need for justice is unmet, conflict will certainly be triggered, and the fragile fabric of peace will be torn. On this International Day of Peace, the essence of the Rule of Law and equal access to justice for all people, regardless of their power strata, should be at the forefront of all discussions. The absence of justice is tantamount to the absence of peace. #internationalpeaceday!
