Boise State University has forfeited their volleyball game to SJSU rather than play a team with a trans player. She was forcibly outed as trans by an anti-trans magazine, and then a teammate. It's a story filled with discrimination. Subscribe to support my journalism. https://lnkd.in/eHY9u-et #trans #transgender #transrights #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtqia #dei #deib #queer

This poor young woman has been treated so malevolently by groups that she has nothing to do with. Think about it. She's playing volleyball in SC without incident until an arbitrary law gets passed. Forcing her to change her life. She moved to tolerant San Jose and proceeded to play and play well, again without incident. Until she confided in her roommate and teammate that she was transgender. Then the horror show started, bringing in the usual players ICON, Redduxx, and the worst of all the dreadful loser Riley Gaines. Now we have the attention of the hateful transphobes complaining about "men in sports", blah blah. Even though Blaire competed for three years unknown to them. It's like clockwork. We know who's chiming in next. I won't mention his name.

This captain doesn't deserve to lead a team after such behavior and should be removed from the team completely. Making a paycheck in return for putting someone's life in danger is ludicrous. Also, Boise is full of cowards that would rather point fingers and forfeit instead of showing how much they suck at the sport and lose with dignity. Biology is no reason to exclude someone from sports. Stop pouting and compete with pride. You lose with your head held high.

Shame on BSU. I hope SJSU stands firm. Just let her play volleyball and live her life, FFS.

This runs counter to the San Jose I experienced living/working there in the 90’s, especially the folx I interacted with at State. Deeply saddened such transphobia has taken root.

I really despise bigots. Boise State can...well, you know.

There has got to be a way to show that Riley Gaines and those who align with this thought process of transwomen are just attempting to eliminate the competition. Because of their discriminatory posture and the level of their accomplishment, they are calling transwomen men. This is so stupid, and I believe dust mites are in their hearts and brains.

I suspect that the NCAA will come down hard on Bosie State for this and Bar all teams from NCAA Championship contention regardless of sport as a punishment ... But we know it's not going to happen

"the mother, who wished to remain anonymous" If bigots insist on outing folks they should be required to identify themselves. What a cowardice act.

As a trans woman who plays flag football, sports are immensely beneficial to my mental health. I hope this player receives all of the support she can, as I can’t imagine what she is going through.
