Ever wondered how we can combat climate change while still using fossil fuels? Enter Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology! 🌍💡 CCS is a ground breaking innovation that captures carbon dioxide emissions produced from industrial processes or power generation and stores them underground, preventing them from entering the atmosphere. 🛢️➡️🌱 The benefits of CCS are immense: ✅ Mitigates Climate Change: By capturing CO2 emissions, CCS helps reduce the greenhouse effect and mitigate climate change. ✅ Enables Cleaner Energy: CCS allows us to continue using fossil fuels while minimizing their environmental impact, providing a bridge to a cleaner energy future. ✅ Supports Industrial Decarbonization: Industries such as cement, steel, and chemicals can significantly reduce their carbon footprint with CCS. Technologies driving CCS forward include: 🔍 Carbon Capture: Various capture technologies, such as post-combustion, pre-combustion, and oxy-fuel combustion, capture CO2 emissions from industrial processes or power plants. 💼 Transportation: Once captured, CO2 is transported via pipelines, ships, or trucks to suitable storage sites. 🏞️ Storage: CO2 is stored securely underground in geological formations, such as depleted oil and gas reservoirs or saline aquifers, where it remains trapped indefinitely. Embracing CCS is crucial for achieving our climate goals while ensuring energy security and economic prosperity. Let's continue to innovate and collaborate to unlock the full potential of this transformative technology! 💪🌱 hashtag#CCS hashtag#CarbonCapture hashtag#ClimateAction hashtag#Sustainability hashtag#CleanEnergy hashtag#Innovation hashtag#Technology hashtag#EnergyTransition

Ever thought of a world where carbon capture technology is fully developed, effectively filtering emissions from power plants, factories, and even vehicles? This breakthrough could drastically reduce atmospheric CO2, mitigating climate change and restoring ecosystems. Hypothetically, with advanced carbon capture and storage (CCS) systems, industries could operate with zero net emissions. Enhanced direct air capture technologies might extract CO2 directly from the atmosphere, leading to a surplus of captured carbon that can be repurposed for synthetic fuels or building materials. This not only curbs pollution but also stimulates a circular economy. To achieve this vision, collaboration among governments, businesses, and scientists is crucial. Public awareness and education about carbon management techniques can further motivate grassroots initiatives. By advocating for renewable energy integration and sustainable practices in daily life, we can collectively work towards a future where capturing carbon emissions is not just a goal but a reality. Together, we can take steps to realize this ambitious yet achievable vision. 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔, 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑸𝑼𝑰𝑴𝑰𝑪𝑨. #WhatIf #netzero #carboncapture #Chemical_Engineering #QUIMICA #BIT_Sindri

#ProjectGreenLight series: CCUS who? Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) are a series of technologies developed to capture and store carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions from industrial activities into deep underground layers, usually where old deposits of oil and natural gas where also found. CO₂ over accumulation in the atmosphere is the main cause of climate change. Storing CO₂ from industrial activities underground prevents its accumulation in the atmosphere, and that is how carbon storage supports climate change mitigation. If carbon storage is to have a meaningful impact for climate change mitigation, we need to safely store around 7 billion tonnes of CO₂ each year, which corresponds to 14% of all annual global emissions by 2050. To put it into perspective, current global carbon storage is at around 40 million tonnes per year. CCUS needs to be implemented at a much larger scale across the globe, and that demands a deeper analysis and knowledge of underground conditions to eliminate human and environmental risks during operations. That is why we initiated Project Green Light, a collaborative software development initiative to help make CO₂ storage as safe as possible. #netzero #innovation #climatetech #greentech #softwaredevelopment
