Food poisoning is common during the Summer months. Know why and when to seek care. Food poisoning is more common in the summer for a few reasons. First, the warm weather provides an ideal environment for bacteria to multiply quickly in food. Also, outdoor cooking and picnics can lead to improper food handling and storage, which increases the risk of contamination. Lastly, people tend to eat more fresh produce in the summer, and if it's not thoroughly washed, it can harbor harmful bacteria. The duration of food poisoning symptoms can last anywhere from 12 hours to 10 or more days depending on the type of bacteria that is causing the symptoms. The most common symptoms of food poisoning include diarrhea, stomach pain or cramps, nausea, vomiting, and fever. Our urgent care can help those who have been affected by food poisoning. We provide IV hydration for mild dehydration, anti-nausea treatment, antibiotics, over-the-counter relief, and at-home care suggestions. Please note if your symptoms are severe such as bloody diarrhea, diarrhea that lasts more than 3 days, fever over 102°F, or vomiting so often that you cannot keep liquids down, visit your local emergency room immediately. #foodpoisoning #foodsafety #summer #summer2024 #urgentcare #doctor #medicalcare #healthcare #health #medicine #doctors #ivhydration #ivdrip #wellness #medicalcare

🥓 Bacon Lover's Nightmare: The Unexpected Risk of Undercooked Pork! The 'American Journal of Case Reports' recently published a case about how one man's love for soft bacon led to a shocking medical discovery. A 52-year-old man, with no recent travel or farm exposure, contracted neurocysticercosis - a parasitic infection of the brain. The cause? A lifelong preference for lightly cooked, non-crispy bacon. Neurocysticercosis is a condition caused by Taenia solium (a pork tapeworm) when cysts embed within the nervous system. Neurocysticercosis is most commonly contracted in developing countries and is very rare in the United States, making this case even more unique. The man had a history of chronic migraines which suddenly changed over four months, becoming more frequent and severe. 🤔 The case serves as a reminder to any food business that handles pork to make sure that parasites are assessed in the raw material risk assessment and/or hazard analysis. Remember, always cook your bacon thoroughly and maintain good hand hygiene! 🔗 Full case review at https://vist.ly/rnky #Tapeworm #Parasite #FoodSafetyHazard #MedicalCase
